This video provides a strategic guide for one-on-one coaches to transition into group training to prevent burnout and reclaim time. The speaker emphasizes leveraging existing clients rather than seeking new ones to create a sustainable, scalable business model that increases efficiency and potentially boosts revenue.
What's going on, coach? Welcome back to my channel.
In today's video, I'm going to answer
this question from a coach that is running a lot
of one-on-one training right now. And he asked me,
what is the fastest way to add group training without burning out?
Now, this is a really
important question that I know a lot of coaches get to.
And here's the thing. Many coaches that
run one-on-one sessions,
they want to be known as the one-on-one trainer. I don't think there's
Is there anything wrong with having that mentality?
Every single one-on-one coach that I've ever met,
every single coach that I've ever worked with,
they always get to a point where they realize,
I can't continue running one-on-one sessions.
There's always a point.
And I know when I hit that point in my business, it was in the summer
of 2012. And I remember it was like 102 degrees outside
at 12 o'clock in the summer.
And I remember having this moment where I was like,
okay, I'm unbelievably drained.
I don't know how much more of these one-on-one sessions I can run.
And I remember looking at my calendar for the next day.
I had like seven sessions, one-on-ones.
And I was like, all right, something's got to change.
And fortunately, I hit that early on in my career.
And that's because I was running so many sessions.
If you're running like two one-on-one sessions per day,
it's going to be hard for you to
relate to what I'm talking about.
But if you have ran.
Four, five, six, even seven or eight one-on-one sessions per day.
You know what I'm talking about.
And you're going to get
to a certain point where you're just like, man, I got to change.
So if you're in that spot right now where you want
to add group training, but you don't
want to burn out, this is the easiest way
that you could possibly do this.
So the first thing is you look at all of your clients and.
If I was you, I would do this like on a spreadsheet,
probably use AI to do this as well.
But let's say it's a spreadsheet.
You label all of your clients and then you look at like all the ages.
And what you do is you look at everyone and you say,
all right, who are like four or five
people that are either similar age
or similar skill level or like the types of customers
that I think that could do good or great in a group setting?
And what I'm going to do is I'm going
to individually reach out to those parents and
I'm going to tell them and say, hey,
I'm going to have a free small group session for you
and like four other families.
I'd love for you guys to attend
to see how you guys like this type of training.
And what you do instead of like launching
your group training program first, you see
how your customers actually like it
because these are people that are already paying you
and they might come to that session and absolutely love it.
And if so, then you can tell them like the next day
or the next week, hey, my one-on-one
pricing is going to be increasing in a month from now
or two months from now.
And I'm going to be having a group program
because I'm at the point now where I'm at
capacity and like I can't take on more players one-on-one.
So what I want to do is I want to create
a more affordable group option that at the end
of the day is going to be the best program
for your child because it's going to be way
more competitive.
They're going to be able to play against.
players within our session.
And I've seen that players are going to be able to learn better
in a group environment versus one-on-one.
So that's the direction I'm going to go in
coming up. And I'd love for you guys to be the first group.
So right there, like within a week,
you can figure out, all right, well,
I can just get some of my current clients to do this. I
don't have to wait to get new customers.
And so you can start right then and there
with current clients. And if you look at the math of what I just did,
Those five clients that you were training one-on-one
that are now in a group setting,
you just took five hours off of your calendar per week
and you condensed that into one hour, right?
So that means over the course of the month,
you are saving four hours per week.
So you are now just saved 16 hours of training
by making one switch from getting five kids from one-on-one
into a group of five for group training.
And when you look at this across the board,
making one change like that, even let's say
you only just have one group in your business,
you just save 16 hours per month of training.
That's insane.
So imagine you set up two groups of five.
And you have a bunch of one-on-one clients right now,
you're going to be saving 32 hours
per month of training.
And guess what?
If you set this up the correct way,
you're going to be probably earning more money with
group training than you would if you
were just keeping the clients one-on-one in their
sessions.
And the reason why is because
when you switch into a model like this, it shouldn't just
be group training.
It shouldn't be group lessons where they just show up once
a week and they train with you
and that's it.
And if you've watched enough of my videos,
I've talked about this for literally the last 11 years
of my channel. You need to have a program that's not just training,
right? It needs to encompass
other things outside of just seeing you for you to charge a premium.
And this is why, like when I
answered this question, it's not going to be,
you know, go run ads and try to go get new people to.
join your program in a small group setting,
it's going to be, no, let's take the existing
clients we have, offer them a free opportunity to try it out.
And then if they like it and you
like it, then you offer them a spot and you tell them,
you tell everybody in your program,
hey, effective of this date.
You know, our program is going to be going up.
And if you watched, you know, some of my recent videos,
I've talked about how to, you know,
keep your best clients in your program when you raise your price.
So like I've already addressed that on my channel at this point.
And for you, it's going to start with starting
with your current clients, giving them something
for free, have them experience it, make sure you like it.
And then, you know, from there you roll into that program.
And when you do that, you're going to be immediately
cutting off time off of your calendar every single month.
So it's going to be hard to burn out of something like this,
unless you try to get a bunch of new
customers. You open up a bunch of new groups at one time.
That's going to be terrible for you.
You need to do one group at a time
and you just start with your customers. Hopefully that helps
you. And if you want more one-on-one help with your coaching business
