How Quantum Mechanics Create Self-Awareness

There’s an aspect of our conscious understanding that exceeds computational limits. The quality of human understanding, the examination and reflection of our own thoughts, emotions, and experiences when the mind turns inward to examine its own states, aren’t bound by any rule and can’t be calculated. They’re beyond computation. These are defining features of human consciousness.
A quantum theory of consciousness, proposed by Nobel laureate Sir Roger Penrose, tries to explain how quantum processes in the brain might lead to the emergence of conscious experience.
