Hey guys, in this video I'm going to show you
some work from home jobs where you get paid
to reply to emails.
These should be some very easy jobs
and great if you're more of an introvert
and don't wanna spend time on the phone with customers.
So you have a company called Zapier hiring right now.
This is a great company.
Anytime they're hiring remotely,
I like to let people know about it
because they have very good benefits
and take good care of their people here.
They actually have a technical support specialist
available right now.
Now this is hiring in Australia, New Zealand,
and the Americas.
So if you're in the Americas, North or South,
Australia or New Zealand,
that is where they're hiring right now.
So they say the deadline to apply
is coming up in a little less than a week.
So make sure you apply as soon as possible.
They do mention the pay here in Australian
and New Zealand dollars.
For whatever reason, they don't put US dollars on here
even though they're also hiring in America.
But if you look at the amount that they say
you could earn on the high end for the Australian pay here,
if you translate that to US dollars,
you could make up to around $92,567 a year.
So with this job, this is a technical support rep position
where mostly what you do at a job like this at Zapier
is looks like email-based support.
Now they have a big emphasis on writing communication here.
So whether you are talking to people at the company
or customers, you're usually gonna use
some form of written communication, which is great.
I know a lot of people probably prefer that these days.
They want someone who's highly skilled
in technical support.
They want you to have around four years of experience.
If you don't have four years of experience,
don't worry, I'll have other jobs available
that are much less experience required.
You also love working tickets.
Now what they usually mean by tickets
for any kind of support job is support tickets
that usually translates to email-based support.
If you've ever submitted a support request
and it's a ticket, it's pretty much always email-based.
Also, they want you to be highly productive
and you bring your A-game to the queue every day.
You love solving problems.
You're always looking for ways
to level up your knowledge and skills.
You like keeping things simple.
You're persistent.
You love doing things efficiently.
They are kind of an automation services company
that integrates a lot of different web apps
and stuff with each other.
So that's understandable.
You're empathetic to customers.
You can put yourself in their shoes
and understand why they're frustrated
and then help them get past it.
Again, you love to write.
So they tell you this usually on every support job
that written communication is the main way
that they communicate both with teammates and customers.
They also want you to be highly accountable to outcomes.
You're a champion of change and you set your own course.
Things you will do.
They say they're a fast-growing remote-first company.
You'll help customers via email and chat.
So they tell you that right there, both email and chat.
Help customers across both paid support
and premier support teams.
Meet and exceed individual performance metric expectations.
Help your teammates by answering questions in Slack,
sharing knowledge through lightning talks and Slack updates
and contribute to strategic projects.
So again, we already talked about the pay
and everything here.
Now, as far as benefits,
they don't actually post them directly on the job right now.
But if you go to their job section,
one thing you'll notice about them
is they typically hire all around the world
and they also have flexible hours.
So they've actually had some blog posts
where they talk about how they'll have one worker
who maybe has a kid in school
and they'll create a work schedule when working at Zapier
to where they can take their kid to school
and then come back and do work.
And then they have some others that are like,
they might be a night owl.
And so they'll work late at night
and maybe get up later in the morning.
And they have all sorts of different flexible schedules
that you can create while still working here at Zapier,
depending on the job too, of course.
But competitive pay is another thing.
You have wellness benefits, personal growth,
next play program.
And then as far as the total benefits that you get here,
they say that you have a lot of bonuses.
You also have things like healthcare,
you have retirement plans.
If you don't have healthcare available in your country,
they'll have usually like a bump in pay
or something to help you
for covering healthcare in your country.
You can work from almost anywhere in the world,
flexible time off policy,
one annual company retreat to an awesome place,
14 weeks of 100% fully paid leave for new parents,
anniversary reward programs at one, three, five,
and 10 years, annual live well budget,
annual work well budget,
once off new hire office setup budget,
holistic wellness programming
and one private coaching session a month via wellness coach
and also family farming benefits with Carrot.
They also have equity in the company as well.
So really good benefits here.
And as far as what it's like to work here
according to their employees,
they have a 3.8 out of five star rating,
which is a solid rating.
And as far as the benefits rating,
4.5 out of five stars is very good.
And then interview wise,
they have a 3.1 out of five difficulty score,
which is pretty standard
and 49% positive compared to 34% negative,
I'd say it's a pretty solid split.
Next, we have a company called smile.io,
which builds customer loyalty for their clients.
And they have all sorts of Shopify plus businesses
that they help with this.
They actually have a technical support specialist available.
Now they say Canada,
that's actually where their headquarters is located.
If you look up where their headquarters is,
it's in Kitchener, Canada.
So I believe that's why they put Canada
on a lot of the location sections of their listings.
I don't think that always means you have to be in Canada
because they actually hire people all around the world,
globally in Canada, US, South America, Middle East,
Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions of the world.
Now they do want you to work certain hours for this one.
So as long as you can fill those hours
and they don't tell you
you have to be in a certain region of the world
in the actual listing itself,
you should be fine to apply from just about anywhere.
So just convert those hours to your time zone.
And again, it's in Eastern Standard Time
and Pacific Standard Time.
So just convert that to your time zone,
see if those hours would work for you where you live,
and then decide if you want to apply from there or not,
because they do hire worldwide.
They're looking for a technical self starter
who thrives in a fast paced environment,
two to three years of experience
working in a technical capacity,
preferably at a software as a service company.
So maybe you've had experience with JavaScript,
SQL, HTML, CSS, APIs, and those types of things.
You have excellent written communication skills
and can translate technical concepts
in a consumer friendly way.
They primarily use Slack, Notion, and Google Meet
as some of their tools.
You have the ability to creatively problem solve
and improvise in ambiguous situations.
You can context switch,
delving into varying degrees of complexity
and issues and support requests over the course of a day.
You have talking to people,
you have the desire to be the voice
of the merchants that smile,
and you're comfortable working 11 a.m.
to 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
or 8 a.m. 4 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
Again, they have people worldwide,
they hire worldwide,
it's mainly just can you fit those hours,
whatever those hours would be in your country.
So what you'll do,
now they do say email, chat, and occasionally phone calls,
but mostly email and chat is what you're going to be doing.
Create internal, external support documentation,
which is also text-based.
Collect and share valuable user experience feedback
so that basically they can improve things.
Engage and collaborate with a remote team
spread across the world.
Again, they are a worldwide team.
And then they have a few things like metrics
that they will measure your success by
and things like that.
And things that they want to be known for,
like five star Shopify app store generation,
a team customer satisfaction that's really high
at 90% or better, internal efficiency,
those types of things.
Now, as far as what's like to work here,
they have a 4.3 out of five star rating.
And then obviously that's very good.
Benefit wise, they don't really have enough feedback here
to draw a lot of conclusions,
but they do have one five star benefit score here,
but they don't have their average working yet
because they only have one person who left feedback.
Interview wise, they have a 2.8 out of five
difficulty score, 48% positive compared to 39% negative.
And none of that I would say is bad.
I'd say that's all pretty good.
Salary wise, as far as how much
you might be able to earn here.
Now they do have the live chat rep on here.
So if you want to look at what you,
since it's a full-time job,
you can just go ahead and look at the yearly pay.
One person, since it's only one person,
I would think that this score right here
is what they said that they made.
I would think a range makes more sense
only when you have multiple reviews.
So with this, I'd say about 46,000 a year
is about what you would expect here.
Now I mentioned this company in another recent video,
but this is actually a different job.
So this is at Automatic.
Automatic is a company that specializes
in WordPress websites.
They have wordpress.com and they allow you
to build that with this platform,
which I believe WordPress makes up for like
almost 30% or so of all websites these days.
And then they also have a lot of different
WordPress-related products.
So basically they help you build websites
and customize them.
Now they have a job called a happiness engineer.
So this is basically what they call
their customer support jobs at Automatic.
So Automatic is known for doing mostly
like text-based customer support.
You may occasionally do like a screen share
or something like that, but they also hire worldwide.
They have a global team.
You'll assist a variety of customers via email, live chat.
They do say a few other things as well,
but from past research and covering this company
for a long time, I do still believe
that they mostly do text-based communication.
Go beyond the immediate question
to help customers succeed with their products.
Reach out to potential and existing customers
to learn about their goals, experience with the products,
and how they can ensure their continued success.
Problem solve, troubleshoot, dog food, and test.
I don't know what dog food means
in terms of like this sentence,
or if that's just something that is a typo.
Embrace change and learn new things.
Proactively recommend an idea
that will help the customer be more successful.
They are looking for someone
who has deep experience in technical support.
You are an excellent communicator,
and you are an exceptional problem solver,
have great judgment.
You have value, accountability,
and are impeccable with follow-through.
You're adaptable, curious, and excited by change.
You care deeply about the customer experience.
You're a strong cross-functional collaborator.
You want to be a member of a global team
that provides 24-7 support,
and a bonus skill would be you have experience
with e-commerce or setting up a business.
Now, to me, that seems like a preferred thing
that's not required.
So an ideal candidate,
so some other things that might set you apart,
experience as either a deep technical troubleshooter
or a customer success rep or a technical account manager,
experience creating and supporting
WordPress websites in the past,
and if you have experience in sales
or technical account management,
they want to hear about it.
As far as how much you get paid,
they are very transparent about it,
$40,000 to $68,000 a year,
but that can vary depending on the location
because they do hire worldwide.
As far as benefits, it's actually on a separate page.
So you have professional development benefits.
You have wellness benefits, career coaching,
parental leave, which is up to six months fully paid.
You have unlimited, no minimum or maximum time off,
anniversary rewards after you've been with them a while,
a home office budget and co-working allowances,
automatic stock that you can buy and sell,
life insurance that's company sponsored,
and also they have internal equity
and review your pay every 12 to 18 months,
so you don't have to always ask for a raise.
As far as what it's like to work here,
they have a 3.8 out of five star rating.
Benefit wise, they have a 4.8 out of five star rating,
almost a perfect score for benefits here.
Interview wise at Automatic,
they have a 3.2 out of five difficulty score,
which is maybe slightly above average,
most companies are somewhere around three,
I would say, 56% positive compared to only 30% negative
is also a good distribution of interview experiences here.
So we also have a company called Wild Alaskan Company.
This is one that basically, they do seafood delivery.
It's like a monthly seafood membership
where they deliver seafood to your doorstep
that's supposed to be high quality.
And they have a member experience support associate
or a member experience specialist available right now.
They say remote, multiple locations.
And with this job, basically, it's a customer support job.
It's fairly straightforward,
except they mention here that email and live chat
are kind of the backbone of what they do.
So if they mention phone,
they do say phone interactions here,
but they also tell you that they are mostly looking
for impeccable writing skills
and mostly do email, live chat, and Slack at this company.
So some of these, you're never gonna do a phone call.
Some of these, you might do an occasional phone call.
It's kind of how these work.
But as far as responsibilities,
you respond to inbound inquiries
from members and future members across these channels.
Maintain a high satisfaction rate from members.
Assist members with inquiries concerning order issues,
cooking and recipes, account management, and more.
Communicate with empathy
and always put the member first in all email,
live chat, and phone interactions.
Report on member behavior and bugs
and generate content derived from anecdotes and analytics.
You also represent the company's values
and mission in each interaction.
Participate in continuous improvement
and other duties as assigned.
Again, impeccable writing skills,
very important for this job.
Excellent relationship building,
passion for helping people,
a good track record in a high-volume environment,
and ability to solve problems
by thinking analytically and creatively,
high attention to detail, and a team-first attitude.
Nice to have, which is kind of like preferred
but not required.
Previous employment at an e-commerce or food company,
familiarity with the latest e-commerce trends,
inbound sales experience,
or experience using customer support software,
which could include Intercom, Aircall,
or other software as a service tools.
Now, they do tell you the salary is $35,360 a year.
That also includes benefits like health, vision,
and dental, 401k, up to 10 company holidays,
safe and sick time, vacation, parental leave, and more,
as well as a delicious box of free fish every month.
So if you like seafood, that's another perk.
As far as what it's like to work here,
they have a 4.2 out of five star rating,
which is very good.
Benefit-wise, they have a five, a five,
and a four star rating.
So they have a really good score so far from three people.
Sometimes this average just doesn't work
on the Glassdoor page for whatever reason.
Interview-wise, 2.9 out of five difficulties,
pretty standard.
They do have more negative than positive
interview reviews so far,
but they also have a small sample size.
So sometimes when you have a small sample size,
it's majority positive or majority negative
until they get more reviews.
Now, last but not least,
we have a company called Reconstruct,
which basically is a remote quality control
and progress monitoring company.
They have a customer support specialist available
in the United States remotely.
This is a job that's gonna be very similar
to a lot of the other ones I've shown you.
You're gonna be doing a lot of email-based support here.
You'll assess each issue and understand
where it should be escalated.
You'll also perform minor maintenance and correction tasks
within the Reconstruct platform,
maintain a fair understanding of Reconstruct,
troubleshoot support issues,
assess and triage hardware issues,
provide weekly updates to the right people
within the company, provide beta testing,
and update technical documentation as appropriate.
Skills required, they do want you to understand Zendesk,
which is basically a form of email marketing service,
excellent technical writing skills,
ability to manage and triage issues,
strong communication,
and strong technical troubleshooting skills.
Now, as far as what it's like to work here,
they have a 3.5 out of five star rating, which is good.
Benefit-wise, not a lot of feedback yet.
They do have some things that are employer verified, though,
so it looks like you do get some benefits here.
Interview-wise, they do have a little bit of feedback,
but not a lot.
2.3 out of five difficulty is very easy.
They do have mostly split between neutral
and negative experiences.
Again, very small sample size.
I would just kind of take that with a grain of salt.
Now, as far as salaries go,
if you want to do customer support here,
they don't actually have a review
specifically for that job yet,
but typically a customer support specialist these days
is averaging something like 42 to 57,000 a year.
So hopefully this was helpful.
