John Lenczowski was the principal Soviet affairs advisor to President Reagan: “The (Chinese) Communist Party depends entirely upon the society adopting a kind of a philosophy of moral relativism, the refusal to recognize that there are objective standards of good and evil.”
Lenczowski explains how books like ‘Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party’ and the Tuidang, or “Quit the Party,” movement help break down a communist system. He uses an analogy of a coral reef: “The coral reef exists because of millions of tiny organisms that cling to it. But if they refuse to cling to it, the reef doesn't exist. And part of the process that can bring people to refusing to participate in this and cling to that reef is by living and being exposed to the truth. Because Chinese Communist rule depends upon lies.”
Friday was the 20th anniversary of the publishing of ‘Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party,’ which, along with the Tuidang movement, have helped over 440 million Chinese people cut ties with the CCP.

The coral reef exists because of millions of tiny organisms that cling to it.
But if they refuse to cling to it, the reef doesn't exist.
And part of the process that can bring people to refusing to participate in this, cling to that reef,
is by living and being exposed to the truth.
Because Chinese Communist rule depends upon lies.
It depends upon the propagandistic lie.
It depends upon the lies of the Marxist-Leninist, with Chinese characteristics, ideology.
And the very act of telling the truth is, first of all, involves the reclamation of one's human dignity,
but it turns out to be a political act in and of itself.
And so, insofar as people can be exposed to the truth,
can get it through international broadcasts from the internet,
can get alternative ideas to challenge the falsehoods of the Marxist-Leninist ideology,
then they are more likely to loosen their grip on the party.
Now, so much of this really has to do with a fundamental moral problem that lies at the center of all of this.
The Communist Party depends entirely upon the society adopting a kind of a philosophy of moral relativism,
the refusal to recognize that there are objective standards of good and evil.
But most ordinary people know that there are objective standards of good and evil.
They know it's wrong to kill, to engage in murder.
They know that it's wrong to steal.
This is the natural law.
And the Cold War, which is not simply between us and the United States and China,
it's a war that's going on within China itself, within every communist country.
And by the way, it's a war that's going on within the United States itself.
It's a war between those who believe that there are objective moral standards,
who believe that there is a natural moral law, and those who reject that.
And that's the Communist Party.
The Communist Party can change its morality at its whim.
If there are no objective moral standards, then who are we to criticize the Nazis?
Well, that was just another lifestyle, right?
Just another life.
Who are we?
They made their choice.
We can't criticize them.
Well, but yes, we can, because there is a natural moral law,
and what they were doing was objectively evil.
And what the Chinese Communist Party is doing is objectively evil.
And so if people stop and think about this,
and if they are exposed to just this very simple idea,
if they're exposed to some truths that go against this ideology of the Communist Party,
which includes, that ideology includes this morality of relativism,
of the rejection of objective standards.
Lenin himself, in his speech to the youth leagues of 1920,
said objective moral standards, that's a bourgeois prejudice.
There's no such thing as objective moral standards.
What's good is what helps the revolution and the party.
What's evil hinders the revolution and the party.
This is an important insight.
And so there is a relationship between truth and morality, truth and justice.
And if people stop and think and are exposed to alternative,
to the real truths in the face of the party's lies,
then they're going to be less inclined to cling to the reef
and be accessories in the instruments of the repression of their own people.
