Latin America is undergoing a radical transformation.
Socialism in the region is on its deathbed.
Earlier this week, Trump-endorsed right-wing lawyer and businessman Abelardo de la Esprella
was declared the winner of the Colombian presidential election, with 99.99% of the votes counted,
after promising to disembowel the left.
Which, this being Colombia, I wouldn't blame you if you weren't sure if that was figurative
or not.
He also promised to collaborate with the US to combat drug trafficking.
As well as reduce the size of the state by 40%, broaden the tax base, and cut corporate
taxes to promote private employment.
US President 47 was elated to see the 47-year-old's victory.
Socialists not so much.
They took to the streets with signs and flags.
And later, chaos and destruction, pulling down traffic cameras.
More traffic cameras.
Traffic signs.
And attempting to destroy mass transit ticket machines, with little luck.
They also burned US flags.
Which isn't how you cast votes.
Maybe if you did that instead, you would have won.
De Esprella's election was a rejection of the leftist candidate, Iván Cepeda, a close
ally of the current socialist president, the former guerrilla fighter Gustavo Petro, who
claims Israel fixed the elections.
Huh, blaming the Jews, how novel.
Petro has been one of the most vocal critics against the US, challenging the US anti-drug
policy in the UN, and saying, we are socialists of the 21st century.
And like the socialists of the 20th century, they're losers.
But this is bigger than just Colombia.
The Colombian election marks just another point in Latin America's rightward shift.
Which you can see here in blue.
Because blue is actually the international symbol of conservatism, while red is the international
symbol of communism.
I don't know why America does it backwards.
All over Latin America, the people are putting socialists out of power with the ballot box.
And they're excited about it.
Which makes sense, since they've seen with their own eyes what socialism does.
But socialists aren't just losing power in Latin American democracies, they're even
losing power in Cuba.
Losing power, literally, in some cases.
After the US captured Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, and imposed trade embargoes, tariffs,
and sanctions on the Cuban leadership, Cuba has come to a crisis point.
It's out of fuel and money.
Either it must adapt or collapse under the weight of socialism.
That or become the next Venezuela.
And Cuba just made its choice.
Just before the Colombian election, Cuba, the socialist bastion of Latin America, a
place where the entire economy is state-controlled, passed sweeping free market reforms.
And the leader, Miguel Diaz-Canal, publicly acknowledged that price controls don't work,
and that Cuba has economic obstacles that don't come from outside, nor the US blockade,
but from within.
Never in my lifetime would I have thought that free market reform and Cuba would ever
go in the same sentence in this context.
I don't know whether to make a wish or wonder when I'm going to be woken up from this coma
I'm clearly in.
Of course, in order to save face, Cuban officials insist they're not renouncing socialism.
They claim that these transformations simply respond to the Cuban socialist project's development.
An update, if you will.
Come on you guys, just take a page out of Domino's playbook.
Just admit you sucked and you're trying to get better.
Also, Marco Rubio has just become America's latest astronaut because he must be over the
moon.
But this is a sign that the socialists in Cuba are weak.
They lost their chance at making a socialist superstate right in the United States' backyard.
Since this channel isn't Latin America Undocumented, you're probably wondering what does all this
have to do with China.
Everything.
Make no mistake, we are living through the Cold War 2.0.
The Chinese Communist Party loves Latin American socialists, and Latin American socialists
love the CCP.
They love each other as much as Shadow the Hedgehog loves Latinas.
Colombia, under socialist President Petro, has embraced China, promoting a China pivot
that involves China and Colombia cooperating on the CCP's Belt and Road Initiative, and
Colombia joining China-influenced BRICS.
Meanwhile, Cuban groups have formed ties with the US non-profit network funded by communist
Shanghai-based donor Neville Roy Singham, a man who has made it his mission to undermine
the US and support the CCP.
Here's what society would look like if Singham invested his money into Utopia memes instead
of wasting it on the CCP.
China has also allegedly used Cuba as a base to spy on the US.
Back in 2024, the Center for Strategic and International Studies identified four Cuban
signals intelligence sites that may have links to China.
Cuba has since continued to develop at least some of them.
To potentially help China spy on US activities from an island that is just 90 miles off the
American mainland.
But with socialists becoming weaker than ever in Latin America, all that is in jeopardy.
Add to that Russia being bogged down in Ukraine, Iran getting a taste of epic fury, tariffs
even from the EU, and a volatile economy at home.
The CCP is facing a situation similar to back when the Soviet Union collapsed.
Communism is falling all around the world.
And as the last comrade standing, things aren't looking too good for the CCP.
Yet, more and more young Americans are favoring and voting for socialism.
A new generation in this country is being sold a lie—that communism means fairness
and freedom.
But China and Latin America today show a different story.
Communism forces everyone to lie just to survive.
It takes away your freedom.
It denies you a better future.
And that's why I make China Uncensored—to inoculate the next generation from a soul-destroying
ideology by showing them what actually happens when a socialist government takes over.
