Hey everyone, I'm Diksha Rora, your interview coach and welcome back to my channel.
Today's video is all about finding work from home job opportunities.
In today's video, I'll be walking you through some of the top job portals
where you can find legitimate remote jobs,
including portals specifically suited to the Indian job market.
I will even mention a few top companies that are currently hiring for remote roles
and make sure to stick around until the end
where I will be sharing some important tips
to help you verify the authenticity of job postings
so you can avoid potential scams and find trustworthy opportunities.
Now, without any further ado, let's get straight into the lesson.
First up in the list is LinkedIn.
Many people know LinkedIn as a networking platform
but it's also one of the best places to find work from home jobs.
You can use filters like remote to explore work from home job postings.
Plus, you can follow companies that are known for remote-friendly policies
and be the first one to know when they post new jobs.
Leading companies including TCS, Infosys, Microsoft, Upwork, Amazon,
Tech Mahindra, Sigma AI, Accenture and Flipkart
frequently offer opportunities for remote positions on LinkedIn.
The next job portal that I have on the list is Naukri.com.
Under work mode, select remote.
This will bring up a range of job listings from companies
that offer remote work options.
You can further use filters such as experience, department,
location, salary, company type, role and so on.
By using these filters, you can create a customized list
of remote job options suited to your experience and skills.
You will find plenty of remote job opportunities in top fields
like software development, IT, consulting, retail,
quality assurance, data science, digital marketing,
DevOps, operations, finance, HR, product management
and much more on this platform.
The third job portal that I have in the list is Upwork.
Upwork is slightly different from others
as it's a freelancing platform.
But if you're open to freelance or contract work from home,
this is a great platform.
After setting up your profile, you can bid on projects,
build client relationships and work on your own terms.
For example, if you're skilled in an area like video editing,
you can build your portfolio on Upwork
to find consistent work from home projects
and earn income on a project-by-project basis.
And this is just one example of video editing that we've taken.
Upwork has tons of opportunities across various industries
like content writing, graphic design, Python developer,
UI and UX designer and much more.
It's a great way to work from home
if you're flexible with project-based jobs.
Next up we have in the list is Flexjobs.
Though it's a global portal,
Flexjob has a solid collection of remote job listings
in India as well.
You need to pay a subscription fee
but many users find it worthwhile
due to high-quality, scam-free job listings.
On Flexjobs, you can find tons of remote job opportunities
in a broad range of fields.
Next we have in the list is RemoteOK and WeWorkRemotely.
Now, these are two websites that aren't India-specific
but they offer global remote job listings.
If you're looking to work for international companies,
they are worth checking out.
The jobs here range from tech and marketing
to customer service,
so there's everything for everyone.
Make sure to check the currency and time zone compatibility
since these jobs may require coordination with global teams.
Moving further, next we have in the list is Indeed.
Indeed is one of the largest job portals globally
and has a significant presence in India.
You can type work from home or remote in the search bar
to see relevant listings.
I really like Indeed because it's user-friendly,
plus it also has salary insights
which can be helpful for remote job negotiations.
Now you have some of the best portals
to find work from home jobs in India
and a few top companies that are actively hiring remotely.
Before you start applying,
let me share some quick tips
on how to verify the authenticity of a job posting
because unfortunately,
remote work scams are increasing day by day.
So here are some points to keep in mind
Tip number one, always check the company website.
It's very important for you to double check the posting
by visiting the company's official website.
Most legitimate companies will list their openings directly
on their careers page.
If you don't see the role there,
be cautious before you apply.
Avoid upfront payments.
Legitimate jobs will never ask you to pay
for anything upfront,
whether it's for training, software or any other expense.
If a job asks for payment, it's usually a red flag.
Look at the email address used by the recruiter.
Remember, you will always be contacted
by the official email domain of the company.
Legitimate companies will contact you directly
from official company email domains
rather than generic domains like Gmail or Yahoo.
For example, this is the official email of PwC
for checking the status of the application.
Research the company's reputation.
You can find the reviews of companies on sites
like Glassdoor, Indeed or even LinkedIn.
See what current and past employees
have to say about the company.
It's a great way to ensure you're dealing
with a trustworthy employer.
Be aware of employers who rush the interview process
or offer a job without any interview at all.
Most companies have at least one round of interview,
even for remote positions.
Lastly, if the job posting offers extremely high pay
for very little work or has a vague job description,
it could be a scam.
Be cautious with roles that sound too good to be true.
Remember, keeping these points in mind
can help you avoid scams
and focus on real valuable job opportunities.
