Have you ever been asked, what's your dream job?
If we're being honest, the dream job is often doing whatever allows us to live our best lives.
So maybe the better question is, what is the right job for you?
Indeed's got a few new features that can help you figure this out
and find jobs that have your name written all over them.
To start, let's cover a couple very practical elements,
beginning with Indeed's search filters.
We add 6.9 million jobs to our site in the U.S. every month,
so you definitely need a strategy to narrow in on relevant roles.
When you click the filters icon in the Indeed app,
you'll see that you can refine your search by job category, distance, experience level, and more.
Depending on what kind of job you're looking for, you may also see industry-specific filters.
For example, accountants will be able to filter by a set of specific licenses and standards,
while nurses will see filters asking about their desired shift, the schedule they want, and more.
Setting up your filters will reduce the number of jobs listed
while increasing the number of jobs that actually match what you're looking for.
The jobs shown to you on Indeed are customized based on your search activity,
feedback, and one more thing, your profile.
Your job preferences include the type of job you want,
your desired work schedule, minimum base pay, work setting, things like that.
Once you've completed your preferences,
you're going to start noticing check marks and strike through symbols on a lot of job posts.
These labels let you know if the job matches your preferences and qualifications.
This makes it quick and easy to know which jobs to click on and apply to.
You may also notice statements on job posts like
your resume might be missing qualifications.
This is where Indeed helps you out.
When you click this, you may see questions like
do you have this license or can you speak French?
These clarifying questions are designed to ensure you're putting your best foot forward
when marketing your skills to potential employers.
Remember, Indeed uses the information from your profile preferences and qualifications
to match you to new roles.
So the more complete those sections are,
the fewer clarifying questions you're going to be asked.
My advice, add that information into your profile ASAP.
Oui, je parle français.
There's another feature on Indeed that can help you match with a job that's right for you.
The work well-being score.
Well-being might be a term you're used to hearing at a doctor's office,
but well-being is also incredibly relevant
when we talk about jobs and what you want out of them.
Research tells us that happiness, purpose, satisfaction,
and manageable stress all contribute to well-being at work.
So we measured how companies' employees feel about each of those outcomes,
along with more specific drivers like compensation, flexibility, and appreciation.
The results?
The work well-being score,
which you can find under company reviews in the Indeed app
or by clicking on a company's job post.
Once you know what you personally value,
then it's all about finding a company that matches those values.
And don't just look at the number.
Click see all results to see how the company performed across various well-being drivers.
In love, life, and yes, in work, the right thing is incredibly personal.
What you value in a job will likely change when you're 20, 30, 40.
That's part of the journey.
And it's why recognizing what you value,
knowing your preferences, and setting your filters on Indeed
will help you find the right jobs for you.
