We love this place , smack-dab in the middle of Whittier and a stone’s throw from the 605 freeway. This was the “country home” of one of the most important people in early California history, the last Governor of Mexican California , Pio Pico. His mansion is worth a trip unto itself for all the history as a State Park BUT be sure and listen upstairs in the attic and on the upper stair landing!
