Torrance's Madrona Marsh -Torrance citizens saved this oasis in the middle of the city!
Madrona Marsh Preserve nature in Torrance! This is a unique nature preserve right in the middle of a city. Residents of Torrance, CA had the foresight in the 1970s to preserve what is now one of the last vernal marsh in Southern California. Part of the El Segundo Dunes complex that allows you to see what the entire coast looked like before development. Thanks to Debbie Hays and Elizabeth Evans and Friend of the Madrona Marsh. Volunteers and the Friends of the Madrona Marsh keep it a place we can enjoy and birds and endangered species like the Fairy Shrimp, can survive!
After our hike at the Madrona Marsh we went to the Red Car Brewery in Torrance for a sandwhich!
