After Marius snapped some pics
(link in the description if you haven't seen this
masterpiece photography yet).
We continue our grand adventure by visiting the chapel
of the Madonna della Vitaleta.
I am very happy with my shot.
As we were running from the rain
(and failing miserably to stay dry)
“We are so lucky!”
We took refuge in San Quirico d’Orcia.
A medieval town, that's the epitome of Tuscan charm.
“This is a very good oil!”
“Guanciale (Italian salt-cured meat) is amazing
very tasty, I can feel the crunchiness.
very flavorful”
“Eggplants on the top
this is pecorino (Italian hard cheese produced from sheep's milk.)
on oil, really good! Amazing, I’m in love with it.”
“Let’s try the biscuit we bought before.”
“You make me want to taste it.”
“Take it, take it! These are really good!
“I can taste the sugar and the almonds, I like it!”
“This chapel is dedicated to the Virgin Mary who once
appeared to a shepherdess.
Now this isn't just any chapel, it’s a quaint little spot of Catholic worship.
tucked away in the rural locality of Vitaleta
in the municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia, province of Siena.
Picture perfect, right?
This charming chapelle has roots dating back to the 16th century
and is dedicated to the Madonna della Vitaleta.
Fun fact, it originally housed a statue of the Madonna crafted
by Renaissance superstar Andrea della Robbia.
But fear not, art lovers, the statue has since been
relocated to the church of San Francesco in San Quirico d'Orcia for safekeeping.
Because, you know, even statues need a change of scenery now and then.
The chapel got a fancy makeover in 1884, courtesy of architect Giuseppe Partini,
who gave it a Neo-Renaissance lift.
Then we went to the campsite where we’d be spending the night,
and since they were selling sheep’s milk yogurt,
we thought, "Hey, why not? Let’s get wild!" So, we decided to try it!
Stiamo provando lo yogurt di pecora.
Stiamo provando lo yogurt di pecora.
“Equal to that of cow.”
“You can taste the aftertaste of sheep, it literally has the aftertaste of sheep”
After eating that thrilling yogurt, we went to witness one of the most
epic sunsets ever, as if the sky itself wanted to reward our bravery!
After watching that beautiful sunset, we went back to the campsite to set up the tent,
and we were very lucky because we didn't encounter any wind at all."
A cat strolled into my tent, probably to leave a Yelp review.
Then, I went to sleep. Good night!
If you saw the movie The Gladiator, You cannot don’t recognize this house!
