BREAKFAST: - Soho House Paris - Find ANY cafe (wake up early, get a takeaway coffee & croissant and watch the sunrise in bed - it’s hard to go wrong!)
LUNCH: - La Rose de France (located in Place Dauphine where our AirBnB overlooked) - Chez Marianne (serves up the most delicious Mediterranean food including the best falafels we’ve ever tasted) - Ober Mamma (part of the Pink Mamma Group, this was our favourite restaurant of theirs we’ve been to so far - the Spicy Jam pizza is to die for!)
DINNER: - Malro (an absolute must & our favourite every time - be sure to try all things with burrata on and prepare to have your head blown off by the spiciest spicy margaritas) - Carboni’s (with a simple yet incredibly satisfying menu, we were drooling over their pasta dishes & Tenuta Giustini Patù Primitivo wine)
DRINKS: - Bisou (describe what tickles your fancy and leave the rest to the barman - they love to be creative & surprise you!) - Nelson’s - Bar Sotto (the speakeasy bar downstairs from Carboni’s - very intimate and romantic)
COFFEE: - La Compagnie du Café (the best coffee we had whilst we were there) - Cafe Richard
ACTIVITIES: - Shopping in Le Marais (the most gorgeous boutique but also well-known shops scattered down little cobbled Parisian streets) - River Seine (grab a bottle of champagne, some snacks & head down to the river to watch the water glisten in the heat of the Parisian sun - or visit one of the bars like Les Nautes) - Palais Royal (get lucky with a seat or two and enjoy the beautiful view & white noise of the fountains)

What? Oui oui, Emily's in Paris.
We have just had the most lovely start to our Paris trip. We went to Sohouse Paris,
which is a really new house actually, and we completely chilled. We went for a lovely
breakfast in the courtyard area, then we went upstairs to the terrace area where they've got
this tiny pool, but amazing, completely in the sun, got a bar, we had a few mimosas,
and now we've just checked into our Airbnb, which is everything we could have wanted and more.
It's on the fifth floor, we love some stairs, we love our thousand stairs, and the view,
everything is incredible, so we're going to give you a little bit of a room tour,
slash apartment tour now. This is the main communal area. What we have here is a sofa
that turns into a bed, otherwise known as a sofa bed. Here's a little seating area,
we have a table area, a kitchen, which is quite like industrial style, which I really like.
This is the main bedroom, which I love, it's completely open into the gorgeous light and
view, so I'll be opening my birthday presents here tomorrow morning. Honestly, it's amazing
that you can see the view out there, it's so nice. I don't know what these are, but I love
them, I'm about lost, I don't know what it is. Is this an old suitcase that's been broken in half?
Weirdest coat hangers ever. I really like them. Look at those. I really like them.
Niche. Yeah, fantastic, we love that. Love that side lamp as well.
Very nice. We love it, we love it, we love it, we love it. We didn't realise there was
going to be a washing machine at the ridge, fantastic. Now, the best part about this.
What about the bathroom? Sorry, I'm not going to go in there because it's a bit too small,
but you can go and have a look. Towels, world's smallest iron.
Standalone shower, and most importantly, a toilet.
Now, okay, so if you come out here, we're literally right by the river,
the River Thames, and if you go out here, look at this view. So down here,
this is literally where we're going to go for a bite to eat in a second.
I mean, it's honestly just incredible, so cute, and I feel like down there is maybe
where you're going to get my almond croissant tomorrow morning for my birthday.
We will see.
Been up for about 16 hours.
So after a much needed lunch, we're now in the search of a potential coffee slash croissant
place for Emily's birthday tomorrow because she's being a diva and demanding already.
They have an almond croissant and a blackberry croissant in a bed.
Let's see what we can come up with. It's not too much to ask.
That's where we ate, wasn't it? Cafe Jade.
Yeah.
That was it.
What have you got?
A gelato.
Someone was suffering from lack of sugar.
I'm a bit nervous. I feel like when I look back at some of this content,
I'm going to seem like I'm really moody. I promise you I wasn't. I was just lacking sugar.
She was. She was already moody.
So I've got, no I wasn't, I've got a coconut gelato and I've got a heat chocolate hazelnut,
i.e. Nutella, and I feel very happy.
And I, well my body's a temple, so I've not had anything.
And next thing you say to her, I just need a nap before we go out, is that okay?
I'm old.
Everything has to get passed by me because that's my birthday.
It has been such an amazing day. It's also been very tiring because let's bear in mind
for one second that we woke up at half three this morning.
Yeah, we haven't actually done a huge amount in Paris though, have we today?
No, but it's been delightful. We love the place that we're staying
and honestly watching the sunset right now is incredible.
We'll have to show you in a second.
We had a little power nap, we have to admit, but we're feeling so much better.
Delayed our dinner reservation by an hour.
By an hour, which had to be done.
And now we're off to literally one of our favourite restaurants in Paris.
It was originally a recommendation from one of my brothers.
Yeah.
It was a very, very, very good one.
So we're off to Marlboro.
They do the spiciest margaritas and just the most delicious food.
So we're extremely excited to have a new lease of life and energy
so that we can really, really enjoy it.
The famous spicy margaritas that we enjoyed last year.
Taste test, first one.
Does it live up to expectation?
No, it doesn't.
Close your head off.
Wow.
All right.
Good?
Okay, going for the pasta.
So, we finally got up and out after quite a productive morning,
actually, doing a few things on Em's birthday.
And now we're off to find a lunch spot.
Yes, we've booked two places already, but none of them were quite...
No.
We couldn't make the cut because it's such gorgeous weather
that we just kind of want to stumble across somewhere.
Yeah.
Sit down, have a glass of something, have a nice...
I fancy a really fresh, delicious salad.
Yeah.
Fingers crossed we find somewhere.
We'll take you with us.
Birthday outfit of the day.
Does anyone know what this noise means?
Slightly concerning.
Okay, we found out what it means.
Go on, tell them what it means.
On the first Wednesday of every month,
the Paris Air Raid sirens are tested at 12 o'clock
and then again at 10 o'clock as well.
Each time they sound for approximately 40 seconds
and for an unsuspecting Paris newbie,
even though we aren't newbies,
they have the ability to cause a sense of panic.
And they did exactly that.
How does it look?
Looks pretty good, actually.
That is what we like to see.
Okay, so this looks amazing.
We've got falafel, aubergine, pita, and also tzatziki.
We had a really lovely lunch.
Like, honestly, it was perfect.
Had lots of tzatziki, which is nice.
So now we're nice and bloated
and our breakfast is garlic.
And now we're going for a little wander around the shops.
Yes.
Are those 38?
Yes, they are.
Do you need a bigger size?
I don't like them big.
The tradition remains that we have an Afros
where it's pretty much everywhere we ever go.
Exactly.
My feet are really hurting, really hurting.
So having a little layover, how do you call it?
A little hydration stop.
Yeah, and then we're going to Seats Park
because even though it's my birthday,
Nick wants to go shopping and buy stuff for him.
Classic.
Oh, I can see our drinks behind us.
Fantastic.
Tradition, not just for birthdays, but for every day.
Oh, they're so nice, yeah.
And here it is, success.
Some buttery, buttery white chinos.
Cedric brulee.
Honestly, we went to an afternoon tea
and had all sorts of his in London
because he's got a pop shop in London.
And there was one that we tried that was absolutely insane,
which was the vanilla cake.
Yeah, vanilla tart.
Vanilla tart.
And that is what we have two of.
Happy birthday.
Just picked up a bottle of champagne.
Nick's love the idea so that we can go down
and sit by the river and drink some birthday champagne
before we head out for the evening.
But first of all, we're stopping off
at Nick's favourite spot in Paris, which is...
The Louvre.
We're now down by the River Seine.
We actually got really scared
because there were barriers up everywhere,
but we found a lovely patch where we came last time
with no barriers, ready to have some birthday champagne.
Ta-da!
Absolute dream birthday to have something like this.
It is.
What do you think of your birthday treat?
Honestly, I couldn't ask for anything better.
Look at this.
And this is the band I've organised for you that are coming.
Boat band.
Oh, no.
That's yours.
Cheers, my gosh.
Cheers.
And here is Nick's cake.
And here is my lovely birthday cake.
Honestly, just the way the vanilla tarts
by Cedric Grelé are honestly out of this world.
How do you feel after your birthday cake?
Really sad.
I'm really, really sad, actually.
Was good though, wasn't it?
Don't know if I'll make it up to 10.
Someone's going to be the same height as me this evening.
That's a very provocative angle that I just got there.
So we're off to Beef Bar tonight,
which was a restaurant that I was recommended
and I saw online that it was in the top 10 of a lot of restaurants.
So this is where we're going for Emily's birthday.
Hoping to have a really lovely stay.
Slightly worried that it's a bit too bougie maybe for us,
but she's got bougie heels on, so it's absolutely fine.
And yeah, it's a beautiful evening in Paris, as you can see.
This square, people just come to after work
and just chill out, play games, eat food, drink wine.
It's kind of a dream.
So we lasted all of about two minutes in Beef Bar.
We just walked out onto Nick, bless his soul,
was like, just looked so upset, so upset.
He was like, I've ruined your whole birthday.
Which wasn't nice, like the ambiance was crap.
It was disgusting, like there was like,
you were sat on this like horrible dirty carpet,
the staff was so rude.
Food looked overpriced for what it was as well.
I honestly felt embarrassed to be so dressed up in there,
even though it was bougie, like it was just, it was...
Oh, no, no, no.
But anyway.
Plan B.
We've booked somewhere that is, again,
really hard to get a reservation for.
And it's somewhere that we walked past yesterday
and we thought, oh my God, this is amazing.
Yeah.
The people we met last night also said
where they actually have been there.
There were so many coincidences.
Yeah, it seems unbelievable.
Yeah, so we're going there.
They also have a speakeasy bar there.
And yeah, I'm just very excited.
Very excited.
Who saw this one coming?
All we've wasted in the taxi is a single taxi.
Exactly.
Cheers.
Our final day in Paris,
which is what we're supposed to pick out each day.
I'm looking at it and I'm thinking...
It's beautiful now, isn't it?
It's really sunny.
I'm wearing...
My shoulder's covered up.
But we are heading out,
checking out of our Airbnb, which is incredible.
We will link it in the description because it's so good.
It was pretty much fully booked
except for the days that we wanted to come,
which I think personally is fate.
So today, yeah, we're going to head out,
get some breakfast,
drop our bags off at Soho House
and then we've got a whole day ahead of us
and our train back isn't until I think about 6.30pm.
So really, really excited.
We still have a whole day here.
We have just dropped off our bags at Soho House
and I don't actually know if you're allowed to do that
and then just leave,
but so we decided to go to the toilet and then...
Yeah, it was all a bit...
Sneak out, but probably it's completely allowed.
And now we're walking.
It's about 50 minutes.
We just picked up a coffee in this really cute coffee place
and now we're going to be walking to Obermama for lunch.
Another Italian in France.
Yeah, it's the third one, third one.
It's my favourite cuisine, sorry.
It is, it is.
Not having it.
No.
Cheers.
Here's Emily's starter.
Look at that.
And then we've got focaccia.
With stracciatella and parmigiano.
Pesto Picasso.
With stracciatella on top.
Spice jam pizza with like spicy tomato and chilli flakes.
Like small caps.
Taste best?
Good?
Yeah.
Sweet and spicy scallops are very good.
Yeah.
There's no way that's getting picked up because it's sloppy.
Thanks, mate.
And just like that, we're back in London.
Back home and the weather's actually better in London.
Honestly, it's incredible.
Look at this view.
Nick has a stag party he's going to tomorrow in Marbeth.
He's up about 4am.
Yeah, 3.30 I think it is in the morning.
So I've got a bit of heat for over 5.
But it's going to be fun.
But we had the most incredible time in our little Persean bubble together.
I had the best birthday.
Thank you, thanks.
Thank you, thank you.
Thanks for this one.
It was amazing.
And next time we see you, we'll be in Marrakech.
Yeah.
Which is extremely exciting.
Yeah, you've never been, have you?
No, I haven't.
Watch this space.
Yeah, so really hope you enjoyed this.
If you did, please do like and subscribe.
We need all the support we can get.
And we'll see you in Marrakech.
