The C919, China's inaugural domestically produced narrowbody passenger aircraft, has successfully completed a series of rigorous safety tests at an advanced level. This milestone is anticipated to enhance the C919's prospects in international markets, particularly while its competitor, Boeing, grapples with a range of mechanical issues.

China Eastern Airlines Technology, a subsidiary of the company that operates the C919 aircraft, completed a four-day "A-inspection" test on Monday at a hangar in Shanghai, as reported by the Civil Aviation Administration on Tuesday.

The aircraft must undergo safety inspections every four months, 700 flying hours, or 500 flight cycles, whichever comes first.

A team of over 60 individuals inspected the aircraft, known as B-919A, belonging to China Eastern Airlines. They conducted thorough examinations of the engines, landing gear, and all cabin equipment, as stated by the regulatory authority.

Alexander Vuving, a professor at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Centre for Security Studies in Hawaii, stated that the Chinese aircraft manufacturer had an opportunity to rival Boeing.

"The Chinese will provide a more competitive price and will likely promote their aircraft as being of comparable quality to Boeing's, taking advantage of the various scandals that Boeing has faced in recent years."

Additionally, he mentioned that Chinese officials would actively engage in persuading the authorities in developing nations to purchase the aircraft. This effort would particularly target governments in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, as these regions have strong commercial and economic connections with China.
