Gavin Lux on performance at the plate Dodgers Postgame interview

tonight for you offensively you had two hits you drove into you scored a run yourself I know you've been putting in a lot of work in the cage but is this one of those games where things were just clicking for you offensively yeah I mean put in a lot of work with Rob and Bates and uh bmac and uh JT a lot of guys that are helping out right now but yeah it's been a little bit of a grind to start the year so just uh to have a decent game get a couple barrels on the ball move the ball forward in the air uh just keep taking baby steps forward over the course of 162 and hopefully by the end you're uh you know you're where you want to be also getting things going on both sides of the fall of the ball we saw a really big play for you defensively as well when you're kind of in those positions making these plays how much of a confidence booster is it for you especially knowing you know you are coming off of a major injury yeah absolutely I mean it's still uh you know every day I feel like there's a new position or uh pushing off or getting in a different spot um we're just continuing to build confidence on the knee and um that's part of the process you know it's not going to happen overnight so um you know every day is like a new opportunity to uh you know do something I didn't do uh for a whole year so that's the way I'm looking at it and uh just got to be process oriented right now there were hits up and down the lineup 20 in total Will Smith four hits tonight I mean when you think about what this team was able to do offensively how would you describe it yeah I mean I feel like on any given night we can do that um so uh you know hitting is contagious and uh you know I we kind of all went through a little bit of a struggle there for a couple games but um obviously we know how good of a team we are and and how good of an that bats we can put together and um when we're doing that 1 through nine it's going to be really tough to beat us and even with giving support to Landon knck what did you see from him today how he kind of grinded through the beginning but really kind of hit cruise control towards the back end of his outing yeah I mean uh he competed his ass off so um it's fun to see him uh come up and and do well for two starts and I know he's he's been working hard and uh you know his stuff is really good so just seeing him come out and compete especially after um you know that second was it the second inning I think it was the second inning and just uh to continue to keep going um it was really big for our bullpen some of those guys a little bit of a rest so uh yeah was it was fun to watch him compete all right Gavin well big team win but also some really impressive stuff for you tonight so congratulations thank you
