The lineup but kind of a mess
today they actually rode over
what the original lineup was
again some lower back tightness
for Juan Soto but he is
available to come off the bench
who may see him in a pinch
hitting role at some point
today.
Gary Cole is five and oh with a
two point five three era the HR
ball we have talked about it
Mike was giving up six home runs
in his last four starts zero in
his first seven Cole's ready
Tatis is ready Cole deals swing
in a tip into the glove of
Higashioka Tatis down on
strikes Jake one out of four in
yesterday's game two for seven
in the series driven to right
field back goes judge he turns
around and watches it go.
Jake Crone zone in New York has
put the Padres on top one to
nothing sixth home run of the
year for Cronenworth and the
Padres strike first.
You Darvish on the mound hasn't
faced the Yankees since 2017
that his career numbers are
really good with a one point or
point one six four era judges
hit two eighty six fourteen
homers and thirty three RBI's.
So far on the track at the
Walsh Judge Taiki like I said
Michael there shouldn't be a
lot of runs scored but I've been
there and judges at the plate
one swing it gets you a run
fifteen for the year.
Couple of home runs in the first
inning one for each side it's
one one as we go to the second
route Neto Dura lead off.
High fly ball deep right field
judge back he's on the track
leaps and he makes the play.
He hits one and did he just take
one away.
I don't know if he took it away
but it was sure close off the
bat.
It was one of those you kind of
hold your breath.
Yep I think that ball was out of
here.
Kim stays at second base and
it'll be left up to Jose Azucar
to try and keep this thing
moving.
And he was not originally in the
starting lineup here this
afternoon.
Lying to center field for his
own car it's in for a base hit
around from second comes Kim
here comes the throw and it is
airmailed heading to third base
now is Azucar going to get
thrown in the left Azucar is
going to come all the way
around.
Andres have a three one lead.
It's a little league home run
orange wedges and juice boxes
for everybody.
That was as ugly as it gets
defensively for the Yankees and
the Padres have a three one
lead bottom of the third inning
Padres three Yankees one Kyle
Higashioka will lead off for
New York the number eight
hitter.
That one is rip past the diving
Kim and down the left field
line Higashioka rounds first.
He's going for two.
The throw is not in time.
It's a lead off double for Kyle
Higashioka.
So here's Anthony Volpe three
for his last 30 his last eight
games up the middle of a base
hit for Volpe sliding in the
third was Higashioka.
He gets back up.
He's coming home and he'll score
going to second is Volpe and
he'll get there.
It's three two Padres.
What is happening today.
I think everybody's offering for
Memorial Day because the ball is
flying around like it's a hot
potato.
Back to back signals up the
middle for the Yankees.
Judge coming to the plate over
back in the first hit sharply.
It's a base hit for Judge
Volpe scores to tie the game.
Torres moves to second an RBI
single for the captain.
It's three three.
Still nobody out for the Yankees
first and second.
And here is Anthony Rizzo
struck out looking in the first.
Line drive it's a base hit past
the diving O'Doar Torres round
third he'll score.
Judge stops at second hits an
RBI single for Rizzo and the
Yankees lead four to three.
Still nobody out.
Here's D.J. LeMahieu and there's
some action in the Padres
bullpen.
There's a fly ball headed out
to a deep right center field
back to his Gresham.
He leaps and he makes the catch.
Tagging and moving to third
base is Judge and Gresham able
to make the catch in right
center.
That was a great catch.
Time to leave the top of the
wall.
A good old fashioned snatch it
back.
He eyes it.
He times the lead.
If he does not catch that ball
it's off the top of the wall
probably out of the ballpark.
But look at that.
There's gold out there in
center field.
So they finally get it out.
They get it in dramatic fashion
first and third one out Yankees
up by one.
Here's Harrison Bader soft
ground ball a short.
There's one on the first.
Not in time.
Judge scores an RBI for Bader
and it's five three Yankees
runner at first with two away.
And here is Willie Calhoun
looped in the left center field.
That is going to be a basic
scoring easily as Bader
Calhoun's going for two to throw
from Gresham not nearly in time.
It goes to shortstop an RBI
double and the Yankees lead six
three.
And that is going to do it for
Darvish.
There's kind of Falefa against
Carlson line drive.
It's a basic Calhoun run.
They will score IKF with an RBI
single and the hits just keep on
coming.
Yankees lead seven three.
Here's the Gossioka.
He started the inning led off
with a double high fly ball
right center on the run Grissom
and that ball is coming home.
He will score another double for
Gossioka two in the inning and
the Yankees lead eight three.
That's now seven runs on eight
hits.
He's takes inside and low ball
for that is only the second walk
of the day issued by Garrett
Cole.
And a roll for two today
returning to the starting lineup
swing and a miss that throw to
first.
Got a strike him out throw him
out.
A double play as they pick off
Tatis and it looks like Rizzo is
hurt.
I just hope that he didn't get
his wrist caught back in a little
push to Tatis.
But you know trying to get out
of the way a lot a lot of times
that wrist and hand gets caught
in the glove.
Let's see what happens here.
He's walking off as soon as we
get more information.
We'll tell you that is ball for
and down to first base goes
Carpenter third walk handed out
by Garrett Cole.
So first runner on and here
comes Joe Doerr.
Driven down the right field line
towards the pole down the line
and that ball is gone a two run
home run for Rugnett O'Doar the
former Yankee his fourth home
run in a Padres uniform as the
Padres shut a chip away.
It's now eight to five as Aaron
Boone heads to the mound.
Garrett Cole's day is probably
over.
So here's Trent Grisham with Kim
at first.
To right center field and that's
going to get down over to play
it as Bader to get it back in
heading for second is Grisham
and he will be safe second and
third with nobody out.
Say his show car is back up the
middle but right to Torres who
is in a rundown run will score
and apply the attack to Grisham
but Kim gets in to make it eight
to six.
You retired for the first out
and that's 14 in a row retired
by Padres pitcher.
Here comes Harrison Bader.
High drive left field back a
Zoccar track walk.
Sia Bader goes yard Yankees
lead nine six.
I tell you what we were talking
about the offense has been kind
of shut down well in one swing
of the bat.
Back on fire.
So here is Higashioka two for
three to a couple of doubles
hits sharply and through for a
base hit big day for Higashioka
scoring is kind of Falefa.
Another Rivi for Higashioka and
the Yankees lead ten six.
Clay Holmes will come on.
This will be his twenty fourth
game.
His numbers three and two three
are a twenty seven strikeouts in
twenty one innings with eight
walks back to back walks here in
the ninth inning.
And Zoccar has been called back.
It looks like Juan Soto has come
out on deck.
Chopped toward first LeMahieu
will get the force at second.
That's all they'll get moving to
third Kim.
So here's Brett Sullivan who
pinch hit for Nola in the seven
struck out looking fly ball to
left field.
Greg Allen is out there.
He will make the catch.
Kim is tagging.
Go goes to second and a Ronald
score a sack fly for Brett
Sullivan.
Andre is down to their last out
as Fernando.
Let's play the parents number
five.
That'll be it.
Grounder to LeMahieu.
They'll step on the back and
they take two out of three from
the Padres a ten seven victory
on this Sunday on Memorial Day
weekend.
