Taiwan's mK-48-6 AT heavy torpedo has a considerable advantage over the navy's aging SUT torpedoes in range, speed and guidance system, ensuring weapon effectiveness and combat readiness energy.The mK-48 torpedo family produced by the U.S. defense manufacturer continues to optimize the performance of the subsequent derivative versions, so that the sound after the launch of the MK-48-6 AT torpedo can be effectively suppressed, and it is more difficult for the attacked ship to detect and react in advance.
The MK-48-6 AT heavy torpedo has a top speed of 55 knots, about 101 km/h, and a maximum range of 50 km/h AT 40 knots.Compared with the German-made SUT heavy torpedo currently used in Stegosaurus class submarine, the heavy torpedo outperforms SUT torpedo in both guidance and maneuverability, with a maximum speed 60% faster and a maximum range 25% longer than SUT torpedo.What's more, if you sprint all the way, the range is more than 150 percent higher, and the payload and explosive power of the warhead are roughly 40 percent higher.
臺灣裝備的MK-48 -6 AT重型魚雷的射程、航速、導引系統，都比海軍現役老舊SUT魚雷有相當大的優勢，武器有效性和戰備能量都得以確保。美國國防廠商生產的MK-48魚雷家族，對後續衍生型的性能持續優化，使得MK-48-6 AT魚雷發射後音訊獲得有效壓抑，被攻擊的艦艇更難先期察覺與反應。
MK-48-6 AT重型魚雷的最高時速達到55節，約101公里／小時，最大續航力在時速40節的狀態下可達50公里。與“劍龍”級潛艦現役使用的德制SUT重型魚雷相較，該重型魚雷在導引及機動性能上都超過SUT魚雷，最高時速比SUT魚雷快60％，最大射程也遠25％。更重要的是，如全程都用極速衝刺，射程更高出150%以上，彈頭的裝藥量與爆炸威力，也大約提高了40％。
