Authorities seize alligator in New York home

"Authorities have seized an alligator from a home in upstate New York.

The alligator was being kept illegally in an indoor pool.

According to the state’s Environment and Conservation Department, the homeowner “allowed members of the public – including children – to get into the water and pat the unsecured alligator”.

The massive reptile had numerous health-related issues.

These included blindness in both eyes and spinal complications."
