HOW TO INSTALL a 3 ROCKER switch

hey friends uh I'm just doing this replacement on this three rocker switch so um this one's kind of busted it I don't know what part broke off but it's uh sparking and stuff underneath there and this is wasn't triggering the thing so going to just replace this um turned off the power here so now I'm just going to unscrew this uh plate here real quick okay once that's done just want to get your tester and make sure that those points of contact are actually off so this is live over on this side this one is not so I just need to be careful not to touch those wires over there so now I'm just going to remove these two screws here okay once that's been unscrewed these are unscrewed pull this out a little bit and then we're just going to match up these wires with the ones we have there on our switch so take our switch out here and hopefully this one won't break looks basically the same thing so you want to have the switches on the same way as it shows so it says the top right here so that's top right there that way it'll ensure that your switches this way is the same ways that it was before to turn them on and off so just we're going to unscrew these on the side here and just basically just reattach everything just like it's shown um here so let's do it okay once that is removed now we just pretty much uh put our wires back on the on the new one okay went ahead and got my ground on there first and now attach the wires on this uh this one to the left side here now that that wire is attached you want to make a nice and snug too so they're not going to come off of there so don't be afraid to kind of cinch them down pretty good now we'll just attach our wires here on the right side okay so these wires are pretty stiff I found that it was easiest just to get like a screwdriver and kind of wedge it in there and pull along or pliers needl noose pliers would work also and now we're just going to tighten those down once those are nice and secure we're just going to press our um thing back into the housing here and then just line up our screws here in the top and also in the bottom one here and it's going to fight you cuz these are pretty stiff we just get them in there and then tighten them up now okay all right once that's tightened down you want to make sure that your plate goes over that nicely so it looks like it's okay side it's sticking out a little further but uh let me check here okay well I think I'm good with that and this one has the four screws the longer ones are going to go on the left side and the shorter ones on the right so just going to go ahead and secure those all right now that that is done let's go check out our breaker turn that on and see how it works okay so here's the one we turned off earlier switch that back on and go check out our new Switch [Applause] [Music] okay well looks like it's working nicely my friends thanks for watching this video I hope it's helpful have a great day and I will see you next time
