Marangiana Viola Fig | A Clear Upgrade to Other Honey Figs

In this video, Ross, the Fig Boss, introduces the Italian honey fig variety "Marangiana," highlighting its appealing attributes, including its size, color variations, and unique flavor profile, which combines sweetness with tropical notes. Ross discusses the challenge of determining the fig's ripeness due to its extended hang time and notes a potential issue with mold near the fig's eye but ultimately recommends it as an impressive honey fig worth trying for fig enthusiasts.
Marangiana is one of the better honey figs coming from Italy. It’s very interesting when ripened long enough and allowed to fully develop its flavors. It’s got a tropical fruit flavor and is more interesting than your typical honey figs like LSU Champagne or Dottato. Right up there with Zaffiro & Barbillone and is a cross between a sugar and honey fig. I strongly urge growers in dryer locations and fans of honey figs to acquire and try this variety. You will not be disappointed. It’s a clear upgrade of Dotatto & Golden Rainbow/Yellow Long Neck.
