
Ethnic dance class training series - the Yi dance steps "cǎi qiáo"
The dance of a nation is closely related to the vitality of the ethnic. It can be said to be a symbol of measuring the culture and vitality of a nation. The Yi people are one of the oldest ethnic groups in China, with a history of more than 3,000 years. At present, it is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and other places in China.
The Yi people are famous for their ability to sing and dance. Their dance movements are sometimes fast-paced, enthusiastic, and lively, and sometimes they are elegant and stretched. The dance style is fresh, and simple, and has a unique rhythm, based on the large twists of the chest, waist, and hips. The dance movements evolved from some of the movements that local people used to harvest buckwheat and walk in the buckwheat fields. The dance vocabulary of the training emphasizes the coordination between rhythm, steps, and hand movement. The body drives the upper arms to raise the hands, or the palms are raised until the palms are "phoenix nods 鳳點頭", combined with the "cǎi qiáo" steps under the feet, showing the light and stretch of the dance posture.
