The Yi people are one of the oldest ethnic groups in China, with a history of more than 3,000 years. They are currently mainly distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, China.

Their dance style and rhythm are unique, with large twists of the chest, waist, and hips as the keynote. The dance style is fresh and simple. The dance vocabulary is created by combining the dance props of the Yi ethnic, rugs on the shoulder, and swing skirts.
