(Bundesliga 2023/2024): Highlights RB Leipzig - Leverkusen

Xavi, head down, heading for goal. Was he onside, Cesco? Oh, he's taken it one too many. I think he might have been offside there, Stevan. Oh, really tight. Took a deflection and a clearance. Cesco wants to go around. Tahm did very well to get around the Germany international, Schlager. Xavi turns, fires, scores. Xavi scores an absolute, marvellous, well-taken goal. At first, it looked as if he didn't get hold of it right. Look at first, let's see, Cesco, one against one with Jonathan Tahm. To beat Jonathan Tahm is not easy. But look when the ball arrives to Xavi. It's Schlager, good chip ball. Ah, two fantastic touches. That was world class from Xavi. Two top draw touches. And then a little tuck of the ball into the corner. Tahm, oh, given away. That could cost him. Xavi trying to be clever. Good effort, good hit from Simokon. Klondeski got behind it okay. But Rahm's got the ball again now. Schlager, Xavi, Simokon back into the centre. And Klondeski got a glove on it. How important was that? And he used this opportunity. Of course, injuries are our let's wait. Openda is unstoppable today. Cesco, that's a grand challenge. A really good challenge from Piero Hinkapie. Kinsteller Jr.'s ball. Headed out, that's half-time. What a blistering first half. This has been between Leipzig and Leverkusen. Trying to make something happen. Oh, there's the opportunity that Nathan Teller was waiting for all on his own at the back. Almost as if he was wearing a cloak of invisibility. Just nobody picked him up at all. He was in... Wirtz working together. Oh, that's a great piece of movement from Wirtz. Big save from Blazewicz. Big save. I think that's one of the key points tactically from Alonso. Now, Csabi, on his own. The whole of the stadium behind him. Olmo, Openda. 2-1. Beautiful team moves. Luis Openda. The third-best counter-attack side in the Bundesliga. Eight goals on the counter now. Past the outstretched arms of Lukasz Radecki. Csabi. Cesco, first-time effort. It's a technically really good shot. Leverkusen. Five goals from corners so far this season. Make that six. He wasn't picked up. What a good way to exercise that yellow card from earlier. Good delivery. It's high in the air. Left foot. To the goal. Maldo's ball. Oh, it's there. It's swung in and Hinkapier met it. It's a great run from Hinkapier. But I think when you defend man to man, you have to be tighter with your men. So, Schlager is too far away. Referee brings it all to a close. It's a marvellous triumph from a Leverkusen point of view. It's points dropped from a Leipzig perspective. The second half belonged to Leverkusen. They will be top of the table.
