(Bundesliga 2024/2025): Highlights Leverkusen - Wolfsburg

Here's Baku, on to Amura, it's Amura's cross, oh and deflection, and a goal, and a lead for Wolfsburg, an own goal off Mukieli here, and Wolfsburg lead the champions inside 5 minutes. Fischer, here for Patrick Wimmer, to Wolfsburg, who dug out the cross as well, and Radetzky safe there from the sharp Amura. But he knows, that was close. Aleks Garcia set play here, left instead for Grimaldo to whip it in, towards Jonathan Tarr, and that comes at Xhaka's way. Xhaka, Florian Wirtz, who does what he does, and levels the game. He's begun this season. Schick with Bornau, it falls to Wirtz, Wirtz locked the ball into the path of Aleks Grimaldo here. His pullback, and Schick's shot, held by Grabara. Dropped in here to Wirtz's orbit, takes on Kaminski, Florian Wirtz, and turned away there by Grabara. And he scored a similar goal against Freiburg here last season. Grimaldo's corner. In here high by Grimaldo towards Jonathan Tarr, and the header is planted by Tarr, and Leverkusen lead from the set-piece, left all alone by Kaminski. Awkward, and they're level, it's Bornau. A set-piece Leverkusen's undoing, it's a four-goal first half, and Wolfsburg back at 2-2. Buryakis, now Matthias Svonberg, and Svonberg! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant, and Wolfsburg ahead again. What a first half, and for Wolfsburg, a tremendous performance there. So the whistle sounds after one of the best halves of the season we've seen keep this team out. On the corner, Aleks Garcia. In goes the set-piece, and flicked on! And they're level in Capier, in the thick of it, and we have once again parity in this tremendous game. Wiertz, Aleks Garcia for Piero in Capier. The cross for Thierry, over the bar, but not by a huge distance. The tap's over. Frimpong. Frimpong called late. Yannick Gerhardt. And a red card has been shown. Yannick Gerhardt sent off. Frimpong, Florian Wiertz. In, Xhaka range! Oh, Xhaka's hit the frame. Well, we know what he can do from distance, and there so nearly does it. From Wiertz. Grimaldo blocked, back out here to Wiertz for Leverkusen. Wiertz in, Palacios, there's Boniface! Yet another Leverkusen late, late, late show. The team always find an answer, always find a way. Equalizers, winners, they come late.
