(Bundesliga 2024/2025): Highlights Bayer Leverkusen - Leipzig

Super Cup match when he started was responsible for the bulk of the set play, so here he is. Alex Garcia, that deep ball in, and Golaci had work to do, Tafsoba arriving on the scene. Section around a thousand, here to support Leipzig on this Saturday evening. Garcia, low and hard in there, and it's off the woodwork, and Golaci reacting. It was Mbappé who got in there to begin with, and then this shot comes in, and Wiertz with the effort, Grimaldo up there as well as Wiertz, here's Openda, and Szyszko in the middle, what a glorious chance it was. Two passes, they've all hit the target, now Frimpong, let's see if he can hit the target, wasn't picked up, Frimpong, and puts it away. Jeremy Frimpong found the gap, and Leverkusen in front. What a bit of magic there from Frimpong, he was greatly aided. And Raum, trying to do the defending, here's Florian Wiertz, such a special player. Incredible talent, Grimaldo, and Golaci flings himself at the ball. No-look pass there by Xhaka, and Oterier might have the angle, does he? Florian Wiertz, Grimaldo, and Soudel, the defending champions are prospering. Alejandro Grimaldo, sucks it home, Leipzig at sixes and sevens again defensively. Henrikhs, not a bad idea, Kamper, that changes the equation, Kevin Kamper against his former club, Leipzig on the score sheet. Henrikhs, put it away by Incapie, only as far as Kevin Kamper, and there's Kovac, happy to throw himself at it. Xhiabu together, and there's the header, and there is a goal from Castello. 2-2, Leipzig, who were two-nil down, have had the wherewithal to fight back. With Marco Rossi watching from on high, hang on though, flag raised, and Castello seeking clarification. Yeah, there is a man in centre, Xhashko that is, and he is offside, and tries to go to that ball, but another dangerous situation created. Xhashko for Leipzig, we know they can bite back, Openda, there it is, Luis Openda, and now it is 2-2, and he gets to celebrate right in front of the Gästeblock. The Leipzig fans there, 1,000 of them, and Leverkusen were caught. Deathly done by Xhavi, Nusa for Openda, and takes it, oh, it's brilliant, arrowed at home, Luis Openda, a strike of class, a strike of ferocity. Leverkusen trailing, they've won their last three duels with Leipzig. Florian Wiertz, and Golacsi to the rescue, strong goalkeeping. Florian Wiertz with the pass, Imkapje stepping forward, he's got the late winner in Leipzig last January, Grimaldo here, Golacsi again, and it's Castello to mop up, not there ahead of Xhashko. It's official, Leverkusen have been defeated. Marco Rosa and Leipzig the victors here at the Bayern, and they did it the hard way.
