841 on your New Year's Eve morning.
Let's check in with meteorologist
Ashley Ruiz as we get going.
We want to know just how bundled
up we might have to be today.
No, that's that was the big thing,
whether it's Halloween or New Year's Eve.
What you're going to be covering up?
Because you want the outfit to look good,
right? You have to plan accordingly.
How bundled up it's not going to be
downright cold or frigid as we
bring in the new year.
It's going to be pleasant during the day,
so for the Hawks game,
temperatures will be in the 40s.
Will hit highs in the upper 40s to about
50 as we bring in the new year.
Some lower 40s,
even some upper 30s out there.
But guess who's back?
The Space Needles now out and we've
had some passing fog, some low clouds,
and that's going to be the case.
The same goes tomorrow morning.
Even tonight,
43 degrees at the airport at the moment,
and the airport still reading 10
miles for visibility with the
densest fog currently located
over the South Sound as well
as over Kitsap for now and then.
Hope we am down to a half mile.
We're not seeing any rain to
really speak of right now.
Some light precipitation,
maybe a few flurries falling up in the
passes and then the showers are offshore.
Our next system is going to move in
on Tuesday and the best chance for
rain then will be closer to the coast.
And the Olympic Peninsula high
temperatures today is still above normal.
Upper 40s, lower 50s,
but it's not going to be nearly as mild.
Taking you through your New Year's Eve planner.
Of course, this is for Seattle.
Pack a jacket.
I certainly wouldn't ringing in the new year,
about 42 degrees with some
low clouds moving through.
Fingers crossed it holds off at
least until after midnight tomorrow morning.
Waking up to the mid and upper 30s.
Some areas of perhaps some freezing
fog will be possible into New Year's Day.
Really going to be pleasant as well.
Rain holds off will have partly sunny
skies and then for Tuesday as I mentioned,
that's the day when rain
chances will start to come back,
but it's really not until later in the week
when we have the greatest chance for rain.
So let's take you through the future radar.
Here's about midnight and this is
showing at least some low clouds.
Will have high clouds moving in later
today and then tonight as well.
Monday your New Year's Day
really going to be fine.
Will stay dry,
but then as I mentioned,
rain and any precipitation
starts to move inland into Tuesday,
but even then it's not going to be
widespread rain in the lowlands
and then the foothills as well
as the Puget Sound region.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
our snow levels start to come down
even more into next weekend.
I'm just going to roll through
this real quick to show you will
hold off most rain chances until
Friday and the weekend you see
all that white behind me.
That's indicating a pretty decent
for some snow showers up in the passes,
so that's something to look forward to.
Some fresh snow up in the
passes and some lowland rain.
