The Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against two 15-year-olds, arrested exactly one week after an alleged arson destroyed the old Gault Middle School in Tacoma.

Tips from a Peninsula High School student and one of the teen's mothers broke the case for investigators.

Now, those two teenagers, boyfriend and girlfriend, according to court papers, are each charged with arson and burglaries, which are felonies that could keep them locked up until age 21 if convicted. They pleaded not guilty.

The girl is still in school, struggling in a few classes, according to her defense attorney. The boy was unenrolled after missing too much school.
