And now the 22 News Storm Team forecast.
>> And now is 4:47. We're taking a live
look out in Westfield here. We're
looking fine. A light breeze with the
flags there blowing out of the south and
west. Also taking a live look in
Greenfield. You can see we're looking
good here as well. So the morning
commute, no matter where you are, looks
fine for mostly everyone. We do have
that breeze out of the west and
southwest. It's calm in Springfield
around 6 miles per hour there.
Westfield, so nothing too bad. And
temperatures also not that bad. It's
definitely better than the past few
mornings. Uh we do have some 40s out
there. It's 41 there in Greenfield, 41
in Westfield, 37 in Springfield and
Northampton. And also on top of that,
there's no wind chill. Uh so it's
exactly how it feels when you walk
outside. And uh I don't really expect
we'll be will we will be dealing with
any wind chill for today because the
wind will stay fairly light. There could
be a little bit of a breeze this
afternoon, but it's not going to be
anything like we like we've been seeing
uh the past few days. Temperatures top
out into the mid to upper 40s going into
this afternoon. For today, mostly
cloudy. A flurry or a spot rain shower
can't be ruled out, especially west of
the Connecticut River. And that is the
top of the 20 Storm Team forecast focus.
Showers are likely to come in for
Saturday night into the day on Sunday,
especially Sunday morning. I would say
Saturday itself is the pick of the
weekend, but Sun uh Saturday night into
the morning on Sunday, there will be
some showers around. And then looking
ahead towards next week, temperatures
look to stay uh below average. Right
now, we're scanning mostly dry out
there. There is some flurries or a
couple rain showers here in the
Birkshars. And this is all associated to
the uh lake effect rain and snow showers
coming off of uh Lake Ontario here. And
there could be a again a chance of a
passing flurry or rain shower especially
in the Burkars for today on 20 Storm
Team Skycast. 7:00 this morning, you can
see there is some flurries and rain
showers here just trying to work their
way in off the Great Lakes. 9:00 a.m.
towards around noon, notice how it
favors mostly Birkshshire County, but
even here in the valley, there could be
a spot rain shower in a couple spots.
Heading towards 3 p.m., we look fine.
And as as we go towards sunset, the
clouds actually try to break apart. And
I think we do see some gradual clearing
for tonight. In terms of the wind out
there, again, not too bad, but there
will be a breeze out there at times,
especially during this afternoon. You
can still see some wind gusts around 15,
20 to 25 miles an hour. So, we're not
going to be dealing with the wind gusts
that were around over 30 m an hour like
the past few days. Uh, but still a
little bit of a breeze out there at
times as we go through the afternoon.
So, for today, temperature 40 to 48,
mostly cloudy, a flurry or shower can't
be ruled out. Heading through tonight,
we'll fall back into the 20s to low 30s.
A gradual clearing sky and breezy. The
upcoming weekend, as I mentioned,
Saturday for tomorrow looks to be the
pick of the weekend. Temperatures in the
low to mid 40s. Sunday, there will be
some showers in the morning, but drying
up in the afternoon. Temperatures do
climb in the mid-50s. That's the warmest
day out of the next seven is on Sunday.
We do stay mostly in the 40s going into
early next week. And those overnight low
temperatures stay mostly into the 20s
and some low to mid-30s. Watching our
latest forecast, you could do so by
