I've got a message off Lawrence, I've had a few messages, can you try this?
So I've got it Lawrence, and here it is.
It's pigs in blankets, mac and cheese, succulent mini pork sausages wrapped in smoked streaky
bacon.
Buy now and freeze.
Or you can just buy it and eat it.
Look at the traffic light system, look at all the reds.
Look at the serving suggestion, we've got a bit of garlic bread there.
So cheers Lawrence for that, I do appreciate it, and everyone else who messaged me to get
this.
I got it in Aldi and it was £2.49.
So let's take a look at the packaging.
Mac and cheese and pigs in blankets.
So there it is, that's what you get, you get three by the look of it, and a load of macaroni
and cheese.
So let's have a look at the packaging a little bit more.
Wowzers, they're writing so small, isn't it?
There it is, 400 grams, so it's not a sharer is it?
We've got cooked pork sausages filled with beef collagen casings wrapped in streaky bacon
served with cheese sauce and cooked macaroni pasta.
They are the ingredients there and the allergens are wheat, milk and mustard.
That's what we get.
You've got cooked macaroni pasta 34%, mature cheddar cheese 18%, cooked pigs in blankets
11% and the pork sausage being 75%.
So yeah, I mean yeah, we'll see.
I mean, there's the directions for use.
I'm going to do mine in the oven.
I've got a feeling I don't think them sausages will be too good done in the microwave.
But you can, it's a pin meal, you can do it in the microwave.
I love pasta, I love cheese, I love bacon, I love sausage.
The question is, does it all go together?
That's the question.
Right, any more, I've not missed any there.
Well, there's the instructions there, how you do it.
We've got a warning at the bottom, it says use a plate to remove product from the microwave.
Caution, beware of escaping steam when removing film.
Handle carefully to avoid scalding.
There's all the instructions.
It says for best results, cook from chilled.
All appliances vary, don't they?
Remove sleeve and pierce film.
Right, so let's have a look.
I'm to pierce the film lid several times.
That'll do.
Now, it's going in the oven.
And after 15 minutes, you're to remove the film sleeve.
Oven's preheated.
So it goes in for half an hour.
Put it on the bake setting, 170 degrees fan.
And after 15 minutes, you're to take the film off and then leave it to cook for 15 minutes,
probably to brown the sausages and bacon up, pigs in blankets.
So I'll set my timer now for if I get on here.
For 15 minutes, then we'll do the seal peel test.
I've got a feeling it's going to come off okay.
So more information I missed, the nutrition in more detail.
And it does say this pack contains a single serving.
And there's some freezing instructions there.
Suitable for freezing.
Freeze by a date marked shown and use within one month.
Never defrost in a warm room.
And it's specially produced for Aldi, Warwickshire, and this island on there as well.
Seem to be throwing pigs and blankets on everything lately, aren't they?
So it's had 15 minutes, we're to take this off.
I've done pizzas with pigs in blankets.
It's got to work, hasn't it?
It really has.
Sausage, bacon, cheese, pasta.
It's got to work, surely.
Big pass on the seal peel test.
It's done.
It's what you get.
So the thing is now to get it out.
I'll get these pigs in blankets out first and I'll put them to one side.
And I know that it goes in a bowl, doesn't it?
But I'm putting it on these plates because I always use them.
And you can see what you're getting.
So put them to one side.
Now I've got to get that out with the cheese.
This has got to go, hasn't it?
Surely it's got to.
It might be a little bit of a...
You know, they don't go together, but I am a bit of a gambit.
Get it all out.
See what you get.
Put that to one side and that as well.
And I'll put these pigs in blankets on top.
So yeah, that's what you get really.
I mean, I mean, these plates are huge.
I got them from Asda.
Not sponsored.
I didn't get them for free or anything like that.
I did pay for them.
I get lots of comments.
Where do you get your plates?
I got a set.
Got some bowls as well.
So yeah, I mean, that's a substantial meal for one, that, isn't it?
That'll keep you going all day, I would imagine.
Right, let's see what it's like.
Let's get into it.
See what this is all about.
And thanks very much for watching and thanks for subscribing.
Do appreciate it.
I'm going to get straight into that sausage.
So the top of the sausage has obviously gone a little bit crisp with it being exposed.
The bottom is a little bit sort of not.
But I want to get into it.
I want to see what it's like.
What is it?
75% pork.
The content of the sausage.
Smoky.
That's the bacon.
I enjoyed that.
Had a little bit of cheese on there as well.
Let's try the mac and cheese, or it's red hot, look at it.
I like my food piping hot.
Never used to, but I do now.
I think as I've got older, I enjoy it piping hot.
My dad was always the same, but he still is the same.
It's got to have it piping hot.
So let's try it.
It's only for a bit of time.
He's saying that, it's only for a bit of time.
I like that bit of pasta that's exposed as well.
They go like crispy.
Gives it a bit of texture.
It's very salty.
Yes, it's very cheesy.
You can probably hear the crunchy bits of pasta.
The pasta that's under the cheese is lovely and soft.
Oh, that is good.
That is good.
That cheese will make my head sweat as well.
Strong cheese makes my head sweat.
And you only know that when you're old.
I mean, it is good.
Now, you don't need the pigs in blankets to go with this mac and cheese.
The mac and cheese is lovely.
By just sticking three pigs in blankets, it's making it festive.
Because they normally go on a roast dinner, don't they?
Saying that though, I did a pizza with pigs in blankets on.
I got a few comments from saying, where's this pigs in blankets from?
We never have.
We never have, though.
Seems to be, does it come from abroad?
Bacon and sausage.
Gives it a lovely protein hit.
You've got the carbohydrates from the macaroni.
Obviously, cheese, protein.
You're getting the protein from the sausage.
A smoky little pig in blanket.
So, I'm going to get it together now.
Let's see if it goes with the macaroni cheese.
Look at that.
Oh, yeah, it does.
Oh, I can't stop myself eating this.
Oh, I just need a load of garlic bread now.
Get all that cheese sauce mopped up.
Oh, yeah, that's definitely a winner in my eyes.
Oh, yes.
Now, you wouldn't have it on Christmas Day, would you?
It's a good meal to have, sort of, in between Christmas, isn't it?
I know you can make your own dead easy, but if you want simplicity,
bang it in the oven, or you can have it as a pink meal.
Stick it in the microwave.
I have a lot of truckers who watch me.
Joff, you'd be interested in that one.
Joff the Trucker.
So, thanks for watching.
That's tasty.
That's a good eight and a half out of 10.
Maybe a nine.
I like it.
So, yeah, take care.
Thanks for watching.
Do appreciate it, and I'll get back to you on the next one.
