We're going to dig a little bit from here to there.
I think it's okay, it's not all flat.
It's complicated.
You don't like it?
Well, I don't think it's all flat.
We have to go to the bed.
No, but now it seems to me that it's really deep.
Come on!
How are you, Mosquito?
Shit!
Are you okay?
Yeah.
One last line, okay?
Don't get hurt, Mosquito, I think.
We're not down yet.
There's another one down there.
There were weddings,
on Saturdays or Sundays at the time.
They always went to their cousins' weddings.
I thought, no, I'm going skiing today.
They don't need me for their wedding.
I'm going to ski a little bit.
And I went skiing.
I arrived at 8 o'clock until 4 o'clock non-stop.
The sentence they often told me when I went skiing,
skiing wouldn't feed you.
Skiing wouldn't bring you a piece of bread from home.
And now, after all these years,
I want to say yes.
I feed myself with skiing.
I work in a ski shop
where I really do my passion.
I love doing that.
And to say yes,
at the time you told me that,
but now I live from that.
At the time, we played football here.
It wasn't like that, actually.
It was more like in the old days.
It was more like in the old days,
and we played football here.
That's my mother.
Welcome!
André!
Hello!
You were afraid?
Yes, I was afraid.
I was very afraid.
With Mustafa.
Where were we taking him?
We got out of the car and
we took him to the top of the mountain.
But he was crying all the time.
He was crying all the time.
I was falling in front of him.
I was very afraid.
I gave him money and left.
I was giving him money and leaving.
Give me some money, I'm going skiing.
We could have gone very, very far.
At 15, 16 years old, there was a stop
immediately for skiing.
It stopped all of a sudden.
No more football.
I had a very nervous father.
Because my father pushed football.
He saw his son go far in football.
And the day I told him I was starting skiing,
there was a disaster.
It wasn't going to work.
My parents never experienced this.
My parents came from Turkey.
They've been here for about 38 years.
They've already seen snow in Turkey.
There's snow, but when they came here,
skiing wasn't their sport.
They didn't know how to ski.
Now he's going to ski all the time,
but I hope he's going to go further.
He's going to go to the ski club in Turkey.
After a few years, they understood.
I was lucky.
My father said to me,
I got my 13th salary.
It's Christmas.
What kind of skiing do you want?
We took the train to Lausanne,
arrived in a shop,
and took freestyle skiing.
My eyes were shining in the train.
It shouldn't have touched the edge of the train.
It could scratch the skis.
On the same day, I arrived in Montreux.
I left with my little brother at 8 a.m.
We arrived in Lausanne, took the skis,
and went straight to the Russian Ski Resort.
Straight.
I showed my new friends my new skis.
They were great.
We arrived in Montreux, at my sister's place.
My little brother.
My brother-in-law.
The big boss of kebab.
I told him,
Mom, it's not possible.
You adopted him,
so he wouldn't be like us.
Sport 2000?
For example,
we used to go to the sea in the summer.
But he was...
Even in the middle of the summer,
he'd go to the glacier,
or I don't know,
to ski.
I said,
but there's the sea,
there's the beach,
the heat.
I still have friends who tell me now,
we saw you on the skis,
we said,
but you've never hooked,
your style and all that.
I even have people who told me,
no, but,
you have to be a good skier
to evolve and all that.
I skied,
I fell,
I did jumps,
I fell,
I fell.
They were eating their sandwich,
and they saw me skiing,
and I was going back and forth.
I fell,
I did 7.2,
I fell,
I took the branches.
And in the end,
it taught me a lot of things.
I learned to jib,
to do rails,
to do everything in a snowpark,
before getting to the track.
And now,
what I'm realizing is that
it's important to carve
skiing just on a track
to be in a snowpark.
That's why sometimes
I watch the snowpark nearby,
but I want to learn
how to ski on the track
because I learned how to ski nearby.
I won't hide it from you,
I'll tell you something,
I watched the movies in Candide,
I came back from skiing,
school,
DVD,
put it in front of me,
and I watched,
watched, watched Candide skiing,
skiing, skiing,
to see the tricks he did.
I wanted to copy him.
And I watched the Rasta 4 Rides
without laughing.
Come on, two or three hundred times,
without laughing.
I didn't sleep at night.
I didn't sleep at all at night.
I watched those movies.
See you tomorrow at 8,
7.30 am,
run,
take the train,
and go skiing.
Bye!
One day,
my friend comes with us,
and we need a guy
to give us a hand,
or a second angle of the camera.
Hi, how are you?
I'm fine.
My name is Mustafa.
I'm from Sicily,
in Montreux.
I'm a countryman in Turkey.
Bye.
I didn't have enough skills,
so I was always
the scapegoat.
You bring the camera,
you take the shovel,
you give him a hand.
Then one day,
I said to myself,
I'm going to try anyway.
I tried,
I took two or three little shakes.
Dude, did you see
how nervous he was?
He was chilling.
He was nervous.
Hey, you mosquito!
Well, I was scared at first,
honestly.
You were on the street,
and you had the impression
that you had just started skiing,
and you were swinging,
no problem.
The first year,
you came on the street
with us,
and it was a year
when we started
doing really big things,
you know.
Mustafa, every time
at the end of the session,
you know,
he helped me film,
and then he said,
guys, I can do it.
And I said,
yeah, you can,
but I don't know
if I really want
you to do it.
Hey, you still have
two or three rails
on your legs.
Well...
That was my first
learning experience
because of that,
because of skiing.
I remember,
my boss,
I was 14,
then 15,
I had just started
skiing at that age,
too.
Listen,
I have someone
in the family
who passed away,
and tomorrow
I have to take a leave.
In fact,
I'm going to ski
the day after.
And in fact,
when I got up there,
the boss's best friend
was in front of me
in the train,
I said to myself,
but what do I like
in my life?
Well...
Skiing.
Learning in the middle
of a manager
of the sport's
retail business.
And then,
you live in a dream,
finally.
I lived in a dream
for three years
of learning.
You see,
I'm in a workshop,
that's why I ski.
What I do,
tell me the model
you want to have.
And then,
finally,
it took
quite a hit,
in fact.
I started filming
for Swiss Ski,
I started going
to Davos,
to Corvaz,
to travel.
And finally,
I ended up
independent in video
and everything
that is aerial image.
Thanks to this passion,
it gave me
a second little job
next door.
The image.
It's a bit weird,
it's...
It's a bit
freestyle.
Otherwise,
the biggest pride
really now,
it's in A1 Films,
I go to the dream,
the best part
of my life
that I do,
where there were
two movie theaters
where people
stood up
to applaud me.
I went out,
everyone wanted
autographs,
people wanted
to take pictures with me.
I was ridiculous
in front of these people,
you see,
I was there...
I could never stop,
in fact,
and really continue
until I can't anymore,
or maybe
I'm really broken
somewhere
and we really
have to stop
the next day.
But it's not possible
because I'll always be
in the workshop
doing my skis,
doing something
on skis.
Even in my dreams,
I go skiing,
you see,
sometimes.
And I think
I could really,
if I can,
ski until the end
of my life.
