FALL OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT | Halloween Movie Night

Hey guys, welcome back to another video. So today we are going to be planning a really fun outdoor Halloween movie night and this is something we like to do a few times a year depending on the season but if you have any kind of Halloween or maybe upcoming holiday party you can definitely take some of these ideas and use them for something fun that you have planned. But before we start I want to take you guys outside with me because we are about to do something to our house, something permanent and something I have wanted to do honestly since we've been homeowners but I could never justify spending the amount of money it costs to do this so I'm really excited to show you guys. All right here it is. We are going to install some permanent outdoor lighting. A few years ago we got an estimate on how much permanent outdoor lighting would be for our house. The place we were going with they charged $35 a foot and these lights are between two and three dollars a foot so you're saving a ton of money and we got this box on Best Buy's website. The regular price is $2.99 for a hundred feet but we're going to go through the whole install and how to set everything up and how you control them from your phone and everything so I am just so excited. I wanted to include this in today's video even though I know this has nothing to do with the party but I think this is probably my favorite purchase I've made in all of 2023 so I had to include it in today's video. Before you plug this in you want to have these two connected so the first thing it'll show you this on the instructions but the first thing what we're connecting this this is the on and off switch it'll be controlled by wi-fi and you'll have an app on your phone that you'll download but you want to get this all connected first before you plug this in. They are very specific about that so make sure that you do that if you are getting these lights so we are going to just get this plugged into this one and then this light will be plugged in to this one. Okay that means it's working if they all do that. Holy cow that's so bright whoa awesome and then when it comes to installing you can unconnect this again while you're you know just doing one section at a time. Once you're ready to install you will first want to decide where you are going to be plugging them in. We have an outlet that's right around this corner so it makes the most sense to plug them in right here. So to install you'll just need to wipe down the area you'll be sticking the lights to and then peel the sticker off and stick them to your roof line. So as far as install it's the easiest thing Thomas has said he's ever done as far as lights go. I mean there's no messing with little clips or doing any of that it's literally just peel and stick. From start to finish I think it was less than an hour and now we have lights all year long that we can use for any holiday or special event. So that's another reason I wanted to include it in this video because not only is it Halloween in a few weeks but then we have Thanksgiving and Christmas and I've always thought it'd be fun to have special lights for New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, the I mean the list goes on and on. To get the color lights we have I went to the DIY section and you can create one by clicking the plus sign. I named it candy corn and then for the effect I chose chasing and then turn the speed way down so it's very subtle. Then for the colors I chose this dark orange it kind of looks a little red then this mustard yellow and orange. Once you click apply the lights will automatically turn that color but this was such a big hit for the kids. We are so excited to have these up on the house. This has been something I have wanted for years and years and I was so excited when I saw how affordable they were on Best Buy's website so I will have them of course linked below. We did just order a second box because I want to do our dormer windows so I will be sure to show you guys over on Instagram once we get those up. I know it'll totally change the look of this especially at night you'll be able to see the different pitches on our roof. Now I'm going to do some setting up outside to give some movie theater vibes so I thought putting a little concession stand over here to the side of where we're putting the screen would be fun. I'm just using one of my thrifted baskets I've had for a while and I thought it would be perfect to display different treats and I'm going to place our skeleton behind it to make it look like he is serving the treats. Now we're going to hang up the screen. We've had this screen and projector for over a year now and we use it often in the spa so we have some screws that are permanently installed to make hanging up the screen really easy. I also love this kind of screen because you can easily throw it in the wash if it gets any dirt or stains. Then on this fence I wanted to hang some spider web and use some of our big creepy spiders to crawl on it. We are also having a big Halloween party here this weekend for the kids friends so I've had that in mind as I am decorating for this because a lot of this we're going to be leaving out for the party this weekend. I know this is super extra because we don't need any more treats but a fun idea if you're hosting a Halloween party and that is a boo board or a Halloween treat charcuterie board. I always start with some kind of display dish and I thought this ghost would be perfect for the center. I filled it with white cheddar popcorn and then I'll add larger items randomly on the board. There's really no rhyme or reason to these boards which is why I think they're so fun but the other treats I added were some peeps, cookies, Reese's Pieces, M&Ms, pretzels, and candy corn. This is a brand new purchase so this is the first time we are using this popcorn machine from Best Buy and I wanted to order this for some fun movie nights through the fall and winter months. We sold our tabletop one when we remodeled the basement and we have all missed having movie theater popcorn at home so I was excited to surprise the kids with this one. My favorite popcorn machines are the ones with these carts and I also love the storage to hold popcorn bags and the scooper. We have loved our Vankyo projector and it's been the center of many get-togethers and holiday parties this last year. The quality of this thing is amazing. The one we have is a 1080p and it looks just like you're watching a big screen tv. Once you have it set up where you want to be viewing you can use this bottom piece to adjust the height so if it's a little bit too low or maybe a little bit too high you can just twist this and it will help prop it up to fit the screen. The Vankyo projectors have great sound on their own but if you want to take it to the next level I would invest in a bow speaker. I use this every single day in the house listening to music when I clean or work out and it's the best speaker I have ever owned. Connecting it to your projector is super easy. All you do is turn the bluetooth on and it will connect straight through my laptop while the projector plays the movies and I'm going to show you how great the sound is right here. Oh look another glorious morning. Makes me sick! Sisters! Yes Winnie. Coming Winnie right away sorry. My darling. My little book. It's not an outdoor movie night without s'mores in our house and this was a fun surprise for the kids. My kids ask for s'mores almost daily so I found this awesome s'more maker on Best Buy's website that makes s'more making that much easier. The kids loved having these Halloween peeps for marshmallows. This could be something fun at Christmas time with Christmas peeps or peppermint bark for chocolate and a side note this could also be a creative gift idea for some people on your Christmas shopping list so something to keep in mind.
