Welcome to the Ride Review Review Magazine and a new video from us.
We are in Vienna at the Japan Expo Europe 2023.
Behind me you can already see the booth of Lagotronics Projects.
This is a company that stands for interactivity.
And what we do exactly, what you know about it and what you have already seen on our channel,
is now in this video.
My name is Tom Bowens and we are here at Lagotronics Projects.
What is Lagotronics Projects, what do you do, what do you stand for?
So actually interactivity.
So our core business is interactive systems.
We develop interactive systems for attractions such as dark rides, walkthroughs, but also outdoor rides.
Do you have any examples of what you do, so that you can better imagine what you are doing?
Do you just make any pistols or what do you do?
We make a lot of trigger systems, shooting systems with pistols,
but what we are also doing a lot now is that we move away from the pistol.
We make cameras, we make magic sticks, because it is not always allowed or desired to shoot at something.
But that's why we also often call it trigger systems, so that you can activate something.
Has this also become even more important to the parks in recent years, that you become more violent there,
even though it is a shooter?
Yes, I would say yes.
For us it is difficult to answer, but we do notice that there is a lot of interest,
so there is a lot of interest in, for example, camera systems or other things like a flashlight,
that you are looking for interactivity in a different way.
We already notice that.
And it's also a bit like storytelling, it has to fit the attraction, it has to fit this story.
And then we always choose a design that works well and fits into the story.
You also have a model here, can you tell us something about it?
What comes from you, is it completely from you, what is it at all?
Yes, I can do that. Actually, it's also a dark ride.
But we developed it with the idea that we want to realize something, offer something that is very compact
and can be built on a small area.
That you don't need the rail and these vehicles, which also make it expensive.
So the idea behind this attraction is called Game Changer.
And the idea behind it is that you have a dark ride experience on a very small area
and still be able to realize a high capacity.
And here you turn from scene to scene and actually play an interactive game.
And the capacity is about 450 per hour.
Have you already implemented something like this? Can you experience it somewhere yourself?
Yes, you can. We have now made four installations and one of them in Germany, in Bayern Park.
And I would say, yes, I recommend going there and experiencing it.
Except for Germany, it is then installed in China and also in Kuwait.
Do you also have something to do with the ride in Nagashima Spa Land in Japan?
Because that's the same video content as in Bayern Park.
Yes, so you mean the Farm the Bang Bang, this dark ride.
Yes, we did that too. That was a cooperation with Art Engineering.
Ah, okay, because we both went to Bayern Park and Nagashima Spa Land for the first time this year.
Shortly after each other. I know that.
Yes, that's right. It's the same story.
This is actually our own IP that we have developed.
And then we did that at Bayern Park in a Game Changer.
In Nagashima Spa Land, it was implemented in a regular dark ride.
So, yes, I've told a lot.
But what we have here today at the fair is actually this mini golf concept.
We also made the technology for it.
This is also an interactive technology.
And so we develop a lot of custom-made for our customers.
So what we see here, this Game Changer, is a fixed concept.
But very often customers come to us and ask,
we would like to have something special, a custom-made interactive technology.
And then we develop it.
And that's actually a cooperation with Eurovision.
They came up with the concept and we developed the technology and the software for it.
What kind of concept is that, what kind of attraction, what kind of entertainment factor do you have there?
So that's mini golf, but in a very special way.
You play with different gameplay and tricks and score multipliers.
So we just go away from the standard mini golf and have developed 18 different courses.
So Eurovision has developed these.
And in each course you play a different game.
And that makes it very funny and also very competitive.
Because you get a lot more points if you do the tricks well.
Not just get the ball in the hole, but you have to do very different games.
And that makes it very funny, I think.
Can you briefly tell us what it looks like in this case?
Yes, it works with RFID.
And if you arrive here with a group of friends or family, you check in.
Now it's already checked in, I see.
And then you can actually select the player here.
And if you click on it, you can actually start.
And you can also see on the screen what you should do.
So normally when I check in, there is an animation and it explains what you should do.
Now we are ready to play.
And this course is called Speed.
And that means that you have to get as many balls in the hole as possible in 40 seconds.
Okay.
And the funny thing about this game is that it's better to make it a little quieter and get everything in.
Instead of doing it very quickly and then making two or three mistakes.
Because then the points go down.
You actually get bonus points if you do everything right.
And that makes it a bit dynamic.
I definitely find it funny.
It's definitely something completely different.
I like something like that when you have a variety in it and not always these standard courses.
Very cool.
Thank you.
Yes, you're welcome.
