On Sep. 25, 2023, several people talked about the persecution happening in Pakistan at Mr. Aaron Bashir's home gathering.
#pakistanpersecution, #persecution
My name is Michael McLaughlin, M-C-L-A-U-G-H-L-A-N, Michael, common spelling.
I'm a friend of Aaron Beshear, and I stand behind his cause, and the cause is a righteous
cause.
The cause is that we just stop persecuting Christians, and the death of the Pakistani
Christians is unjustified.
Also upon that, it's also a crime against humanity.
A month ago, from today even, we were down at the Pakistani embassy.
We met with the ambassador, and the message was clearly communicated to the ambassador
that this has to stop.
And the only way you get it to stop is to get the congressmen, people who have influence,
and all of us collectively to force this to stop.
I think this is a very good start tonight, with Aaron meeting with the congressman, Congressman
Thompson, and that we push this matter forward to end persecution of the Pakistani Christians.
And I think that what we need to do is push it forward by getting more people involved,
and legally, to push it up to the United Nations.
My name is Ruben Azad, R-E-U-B-E-N, A-Z-A-D.
I work as a cardiologist in Philadelphia, and I work at Jefferson-Torresdale, and I'm
here to talk about what is going on in Pakistan, and why this has been going on for the last
years that it has been formulated.
Pakistan is a country which has been formed to live in a way which promotes religious
discrimination, and if you look at what they believe in, and what has been going on, then
it makes sense what is happening to the people there.
So if you want to know why this is happening to the people of Pakistan, then we have to
see the roots, that what the majority believes in, they live for it, and they die for it,
and this is the reason that the minorities are persecuted.
And the laws that are made are inhuman, and we should all raise our voice against those
inhuman laws, and ask people to take those away.
Thank you very much.
Hi, everyone.
I'm Sarah Collins, and I'm a Pakistani Christian.
I live in U.S.
I'm a U.S. citizen now, and I'm talking on behalf of all our Pakistani Christians.
I just want to give this message that Pakistan is our country.
We Christians are part of that nation, and we deserve to live peacefully there.
We are facing persecution there.
We are tortured.
We feel oppressed.
And I just want to tell everyone, and have this humble request, that please consider
us part of the same country.
Please consider us Pakistani citizens, and give us equal rights.
My name is Shamis Chamoun, and I'm from Pakistan.
I'm a social activist, and I'm here to talk about the situation of Pakistani Christians
in Pakistan.
Recently, Christians have faced a very incident that many churches have been burned, and houses,
300 houses have been burned, crosses discredited, and also churches are burned down.
So people now are suffering.
Why?
Because of the name of the religion.
And we would like to say that the constitution of Pakistan and the law enforcement agencies
should take action to protect the Christians, because we know that when they are in the
action, so people are protected.
And recently, there are just people saying that we are with you, we help you, but it's
still not going on, because people who are innocent, they are put in the jail, and they
are suffering from a lot of discrimination, but also they are beaten.
So we want the police, that they should take fair investigation, and the people who are
culprits, who did this incident, should go behind the bars.
