Man United vs Galatasaray 2-0 | Highlights | UEFA Youth League 03-10-2023

Well there is always a special buzz on the opening day of any cup competition. The first and only time when all teams, regardless of stature, history, reputation, start from the same position. Everybody can have the same hopes, everybody the same dreams. This could be our year, we're going to do it again, it will be us at last. Those are the sorts of things we hear year on year. Hardly a surprise then that everybody is raring to go. Old Trafford rising to the occasion as only Old Trafford can. Some terrific scenes at the Stretford end. Manchester has a hit for Manchester United. Listen it's a great start but we've seen teams surprise themselves with early goals before and sit back. They've got to avoid that. There was to be only one outcome. Yeah that's brilliant from him. Such a calm finish. Just pick your spot, don't... Hits one! Oh what a wonderful stop. Gomis. There is the halftime whistle. Well there we are, off they go for halftime. The breakthrough did indeed come in the first half but there has only been that one goal. It is very very tight. I'm sure they'll be very happy with the first half performance and the scoreline. They'll definitely want to maintain their momentum now and finish the job. Manchester United come in having established that lead. A game where the narrative is, at least in terms of the scoreline, so far so good. Rashford! He's scored! A two goal cushion and it's looking safe. Manchester United are really pouncing on any stray passes in midfield. We're talking seconds from interception to the back of the net. Goes for goal. It's anyone's ball. So that's it. It is all over.
