What about Manchester United then? It seems like the Andre Onana deal is getting closer,
but what's going on with Harry Maguire?
Yeah, I think Andre Onana, that should be done in the next few days. Eric Ten Haag will get the
goalkeeper who can play out from the back that he wants. As far as Harry Maguire is concerned,
look, he's not going to be short of options if he decides to leave Manchester United. Eric Ten Haag
told him face-to-face yesterday that he was no longer going to be captain of Manchester United.
I think that is going to be, understandably, a bitter pill for him to swallow. I think he is
upset, he's unhappy, he's angry. It's going to take him quite a while to process that news,
but it didn't come out of the blue. I think there was a story a week ago, maybe in the Sun
newspaper, I'm not 100% sure, that seemed to suggest that this was on the cards.
So I think he was aware that this could be happening, but he hasn't become a bad player
overnight. I mentioned it before, he was in the Euros team of the tournament, the official UEFA
Euros team of the tournament a couple of years ago. He was in the Sky Sports team of the World
Cup just a few months ago as well. Obviously, things have not been great for him recently,
he hasn't been playing, he's been injured, but especially when he plays for England,
he shows everybody what a great player he is. He's very well respected in the United dressing
room, very well respected in the England dressing room, and I think he's going to have a lot of
options if he decides to leave United this summer. West Ham United we know are interested in signing
him, that's a possibility, and I think Gareth Southgate has told him, look, if you want to
keep your place in the England side for the Euros in Germany next summer, ideally you've got to be
playing regularly. So I think it's a really strong possibility that he leaves United this
summer, but obviously the decision is down to him. You say if he decides to leave, the decision
down to him, but surely having been stripped of his captaincy, he'll want to go now?
I think, look, effectively he's been told, you know, you're for sale. I think he's known there's
been issues there, obviously he's been on the bench for such a long time. Even when
Lisandro Martinez was injured, he wasn't starting games, he didn't start or feature at all in the
FA Cup final. So I think he knows what's been coming. Also, a lot of people in football have
known what's been coming as well. You know, it hasn't just come out of the blue that he could
be leaving Manchester United. That's why I think other clubs in the background have been doing
their homework, trying to make sure that if he decides to leave, they will be the ones who get him.
