HIGHLIGHTS | TOWN 2 CHELSEA 0

For the final time this year, Ipswich walk out of Portman Road, and tonight Kieran McKenna's men host high-flying Chelsea. That type of space to Cole Palmer, because he will punish the Blues. But Wes Burns has won it. And now it's Hutchinson on this near side. Hutchinson into the Chelsea penalty area with the stepover. Cutting it back for Ballhead, and it's blocked away inside the... Of course, that one on Boxing Day last season with that dramatic Sam Morsi deflected equaliser late on. Oh, wow. And that is lovely play from Cayusto, drifting past three Chelsea midfielders. And now it's Davies rolling it towards De Lapp. De Lapp gets a poke at it and goes down, and the penalty is awarded. It's a lovely ball through from Davies. De Lapp just got a touch on the head of Jorgensen. And referee John Brooks has a judge that Jorgensen called De Lapp. And De Lapp, who has gone six games without a goal, now has the opportunity to get back to scoring ways for Ipswich Town. De Lapp against Jorgensen, and De Lapp fires it into the bottom corner and gives Ipswich Town the lead at Portman Road. What a moment. Yeah, and what a noise. This place just going nuts. It was loaned to Ipswich by Chelsea last season, and of course Ipswich made that move permanent. It's De Lapp inside the box, and he has hammered that. And Jorgensen, with a strong right hand, has taken quickly. Palmer hits the post, and it drops from Kunkka. And Walter makes the save, and Kunkka on the follow-up. Madaway-K inside the centre circle, and Madaway-K with real running power moves forward. Cole Palmer, right-hand side, 25 yards out. Delivering in towards Zalfelis, and the flag has stayed down. Outwell has made some saves. Oh wow, and it's erupted like a goal's been scored. And Glenn, you've got one right for once. Yeah, it's starting to take a similar feel to the Arsenal game at the minute. Sits him back, soaking up the pressure. Outwell delivering in, it's beyond Nkunku, and Madaway-K was coming in at the back post. Not a clean connection. Last given away to Caicedo, just outside the box. Caicedo hammers it over. Palmer away from Cayuste. Lays it off to Fernandes, midway inside the Ipswich half. Fernandes into Felish. Felish trying to find Palmer. A latent, with a terrific save. A brilliant save from Christian Walton. Fernandes, midway inside the Ipswich half. Madaway-K, corner of the penalty area. Slides it through to Fernandes, and Fernandes is dinking it back towards Felish, and it's off the line from Burns. Di Zassi, just outside the box. Palmer on that left foot, gets a shot away, but he's charged down by Sam Morsi, who clears Town's lines. Di Zassi now looks to break away down the Chelsea right. Through to Madaway-K, inside the box. He's beyond Davis here, Madaway-K, and the save is made by Walton. It is near post. Madaway-K, back to Di Zassi, and that's loose from Di Zassi. De Lappe is onto it, and De Lappe has broadhead supporting. He's got Hutchinson supporting. It's De Lappe, into the box now, held up. Can he find Hutchinson? Hutchinson against his former side. Onto his left foot, into the bottom corner. It's Omari Hutchinson. It's two. There are the somersaults. Ipswich Town have doubled their lead. It's Omari Hutchinson against Chelsea, against his former side. A massive mistake. A disaster from Di Zassi. De Lappe hasn't got a shot on, so he turns back, and he rolls it to Omari. And it's one of those where you could easily just hit it straight into the defender in front of you, but Omari takes a fantastic touch out of his feet, and drills it into the bottom corner. Wonderful composure from both De Lappe and Omari. Morsi, clipping out towards Davies on the left-hand side. Davies coming on to it. First time, ball across, and it almost found De Lappe. It's broadhead. Broadhead's going to try his luck. Into Kukerea, and that's loose from Kukerea. And now can Ipswich break again? Hutchinson just rolling it forward to De Lappe. De Lappe held up by Caicedo for now, but then he spins away from Caicedo. And now De Lappe's trying to run away from Kukerea and Caicedo. He's got no one up with him. Is De Lappe going to go himself? He does go for goal, and Jorgensen tips it over. Liam De Lappe, Ipswich Town supporters, urging John Brooks to blow his whistle. Listen to that roar. 2024 has been the most remarkable year for Ipswich Town Football Club, and they have capped it off with a tremendous win. Their first home Premier League win since April 2002. And it's come against one of the Premier League big boys, Chelsea.
