So the 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron just came out.
Here's things that I love and things that I hate about it.
Let's get into the video.
Now, Audi has kind of revamped this e-tron
and they've really set the bar high
as to what an electric vehicle can be here.
And I feel like now all the other EV makers
need to follow suit with Audi
and kind of play catch up here, guys.
But comment below what you guys think.
Let's start with the things that I don't like.
The one thing that I don't like,
we've been driving this car for a little bit now
and it's still taking some getting used to
and some adjusting.
There's a lot going on here.
You got one 12-inch screen here.
You got a big screen here.
There's a lot going on, a lot of screens,
a lot of technology, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
But if you're a traditional guy like me,
that might be a little too much here.
I'm sure if I spent like a month driving this car,
it would be very fast for me to get used to.
Now, in contrast, what I love about it
is that you have all this technology.
I know that's gonna sound really weird,
but the technology is great.
Once you get the hang of it,
like you have the Audi MySense app,
you have it so you can remote start your car
from your phone.
You can set the heating and the air conditioning
from your phone so that the car is perfectly comfortable
when you get in.
You can customize the gauges.
There's so many things that you can do with the car.
I'm sure I haven't even discovered them all.
So it's kind of a double-edged sword here, guys.
The other big thing is the power.
Now, most electric cars, they love boasting that power,
and they love that when you take off,
it puts you in the back of your seat.
This is just a nice, smooth power and acceleration.
You don't feel that crazy liftoff
that you get from other EVs.
The comfort in the suspension,
like we're on kind of a bumpy road,
and they filled in a lot of potholes on this road,
and the air suspension, it takes them very smoothly.
Like, we feel like we're floating on a cloud here, guys.
So that's what I love about it.
Here in Canada, we use the word beef as a dislike.
Where's the beef?
The small frunk, it could be bigger.
I know it was bigger on the older one,
but they've kind of moved some things around.
The frunk is a little small,
but you do have a massive trunk
if you need to haul large items.
So another beef would just be the size of the frunk.
There's really not too many beefs
that I can find with this car,
and I really like the car.
I can tell you way more things
that I love about the car than I don't.
The other beautiful thing is Audi has done everything
that they can to maximize the range here
with the aerodynamics on the car,
and it's gonna give you about a 459 kilometer range
in ideal conditions here.
Let's just see what we're working with
behind the gauges here.
It's even showing more.
Now, my only kind of beef with that
is they really did everything to up the range,
but they sacrificed a little bit of styling.
The exterior styling is just kind of plain drain.
Don't get me wrong, it looks phenomenal,
but it's not as sporty as you would see
in some of the other competitors
that they have, like the Benz or the BMW.
What I love is that the air conditioning came on so fast.
Most cars, you have to wait quite a bit
for the air conditioning.
We noticed that the car cooled down right away
within minutes of us turning on the air conditioner.
The car was cold,
and we almost had to dial it back a little bit.
I love that, how quickly it turns on
and how the air conditioning and heating,
I'm sure it's the same in the wintertime
where the car heats up very quick,
just adding to the comfort.
I can't fault Audi for this,
but the word e-tron has kind of been put
into so many different models,
and they've only just started to kind of individualize them.
They've really just added the e-tron name
to all their electrics.
But overall, the drive of this is phenomenal.
If you're looking for a luxury SUV,
I think you should definitely check this out
if you're gonna go electric,
because the range is great.
The charge time is phenomenal.
They say it can go from 10% to 80% in about half an hour,
and there's two chargers on both sides,
so you're not limited to the charging.
And because Audi is under the Volkswagen name,
you have the two years of access to the charging systems
under the Volkswagen brand.
So certainly lots of love here, guys,
and there's certainly not a lot to dislike.
