Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
So today I'm going to be talking you through
the best and worst new beauty launches
that I've been trying out recently.
As always, I'm going to get started with the best things.
Also, before we move on,
my voice sounds really weird right now
because I'm a little bit ill and I just sound very strange.
So the first thing that I was probably most excited
to try this month was a new cushion foundation.
I really love cushion foundations.
They are one of the things that I thought
that I would never ever really get on with,
but actually they're one of my favorite kinds of foundations
and Dior have just released their new one.
So this is the Dior Forever Cushion Foundation
and it's basically their forever foundation,
which I love in a cushion form.
So this one, like the Forever Foundation,
is a little bit more matte and very long wearing.
I've tested this on a day out in London.
I was really impressed with how it wore.
It's obviously a little bit lighter.
So I do find it does break down a little bit quicker
than a liquid foundation,
but for the fact that it's a cushion foundation,
it lasted really well.
It lasted a good eight hours and I was so impressed with that
I didn't feel like I needed to touch up at all.
As always with these, you can apply it with the sponge
that it comes in, which is the traditional way
of applying a cushion foundation.
I personally like a very dense, round topped brush.
I have my EcoTools Perfecting Brush,
which I use every day with this,
but there's also like the Bobbi Brown Foundation Brush
and the Morphe M439, I want to say.
And they'd also be great brushes to use
with cushion foundations and the brush head
is the perfect size for these.
So those are the two options.
If you're wondering how to apply this,
I also have a couple of other new bits from Dior,
which I'm loving.
There basically is so much coming out
from all of the luxury brands at the moment.
I think from all brands,
they're all releasing spring collections,
but Dior, Chanel, NYSL,
they all released huge spring collections and I love them.
And I'm still going through and testing
all of those different collections
because there is just so much.
But these two little lip products from Dior,
I've really been loving using
and they're just really nice everyday basics,
which is what I love about them so much.
The first one, which is really super new,
I don't think Dior have done anything like this before,
is a lip scrub.
It feels so lovely, it doesn't feel too rough
and it gives your lips a really nice,
like tiny weeny little pink stain
and it's very natural, rosy pink.
It's nothing garish or anything like that.
I can basically just notice it a tiny bit
because my lips are very pale naturally.
But it's a really effective scrub
and I've been using this everyday
before I put my makeup on
and I haven't had to deal with any dry lips
or anything like that.
So I've been super impressed
and it also smells incredible.
Oh my god, it's gorgeous.
It's very vanilla-y and sweet
and it's not too sickly,
it's just a really lovely light scent
and I just think that it's gorgeous.
And then I have the Lip Glow as well,
which I feel like is new, I could be wrong.
They might have just sent this along with the lip scrub,
but I thought I'd talk about this anyway
because this is a new discovery for me
and I love this, this is absolutely gorgeous.
This is a lip balm from them
and it is just beautiful
and has another hint of a rosy pink colour as well,
which is beautiful.
So like I said, a lot of the luxury brands
have newness out at the moment
and Chanel have quite a few new bits.
They have some new foundation launches,
both of which are in this video,
but this is my favourite one,
which is why it is obviously in the best category.
And I really like this foundation.
It's their Ultra Wear Flawless Foundation
and it's so perfect for if you are looking
for a slightly heavier coverage
that's a tiny bit more matte, but not too matte.
This isn't really, I wouldn't call this a matte foundation
because it still looks very luminous on me.
I would actually compare it to Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk
in terms of coverage and finish.
I'd say it maybe has a little bit more coverage actually,
but this is just a lovely foundation.
I used this for a couple of shoots that I've had recently
and it's just worked really, really well
giving me a really nice flawless complexion
and the makeup hasn't melted off or anything like that.
It's really kept everything set in place.
So I've been really impressed with this one
and because I have had more shoots
and I've been filming a lot,
I've been reaching for it a lot more
than some of the other foundations.
I've basically been alternating between this
and the Dior Cushion Foundation
depending on the coverage that I need.
So yeah, I'm really liking both of those
foundation launches at the moment
and I'll keep you posted as to whether they make it
into like a top spot because I obviously have new favourites
but then I have like old, like holy grail favourites.
And then we have a blush I've been loving
that is from the YSL Spring Collection and I love this.
It has the cutest packaging on the outside.
It says, I have a blush on you, which I love.
And this is their Healthy Glow Powder Blush
and it comes in the most incredible colour.
I love this.
It looks so much more muted on camera right now
but it's basically a very bright peach.
It's just absolutely gorgeous.
It's almost like, looks slightly neon in the pan
but it doesn't come out that way at all.
It looks like a very light pink on camera right now
but it's a little bit darker.
It looks a little bit more orangey-reddy
but it's just absolutely stunning
and I've really been enjoying using this
when I want just like a little pop of colour on my cheeks.
You have to be very light-handed
because you can very easily go over the top with this
but I think in terms of using a little
and it going a long way,
this would last you a really, really long time.
Next we have a lipstick palette
that I was trying out before Christmas
and just didn't get the chance to put in a video
because I haven't done one of these videos in ages
and it's the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Palette
and it comes in the coolest packaging.
It's like chrome kind of effect on the outside
and then you open it up and it has lipstick as my vice
and then a little like cover.
And I originally thought
that was just gonna be a flimsy plastic thing
looking at photos but it's actually like really solid
and I just think it's really cool.
It does come with some very interesting shades
in each palette but this one has all of the nude ones in it
which I am all about but it also has like some pink glitter
and for me because it's very pinky
and it has pink glitter in it,
I wouldn't say it's like a must-have for me
but the nude shades in it are really nice
and I do feel like for a makeup lover
or someone who is really into lipstick
and wearing lots of different shades of lipstick
and likes playing about with it,
I really think this would be perfect for them
and I just really like the formula of the lipsticks
that come in this palette because they're not super matte,
they are just like creamy, light,
feel really nice on the lips
and that is what I'm all about.
At the moment, I'm really over like super, super drying
things so I really like the fact that this palette
just felt really nice and comfortable to wear.
Now we're moving on to the Bare Minerals Liquid Lipsticks
which I've been trying for a really long time
and they're finally out in the UK
and I think I have mentioned these
in a previous best and worst video,
I thought I'd just mention them again
because they are now out in the UK
and it's been like a year.
The colour range of these are lovely,
they're all nude shades which I think is why
I gravitate towards this range so much
is because they're all nudes
and I know I'm going to love them all
and I just like everything about them,
I like the packaging, it feels really, really luxe
and they smell amazing, like they just smell incredible
and it's not that kind of smell where,
I can't get this one open,
it's not that kind of smell where you can smell it
a lot when it's on your lips
and they smell like Ben and Jerry's
cookie dough ice cream as well which is just incredible.
So I think these are a really nice
new liquid lipstick launch,
they're not in like the best category
partly because I feel like I've already mentioned them
before but also because recently my liquid lipstick
preferences have changed a lot
so they're not something that I am really
gravitating towards right now.
They're a little bit more high end
but I think the quality of the product
is really good for the price.
And then we have another new foundation launch
from Chanel and this is a powder foundation.
So it's basically that ultra flawless foundation
but in compact form and I like this a lot,
I don't really reach for powder foundations often,
I will normally just use them over the top of my makeup
if I'm filming like today and I've used this on my face
today and it's what's keeping everything all nice and set
and it's very, very good for that
and I think if you are on the hunt for a powder foundation
this, it will just be amazing,
it's nice and kind of matte but it's not too matte
and cakey and it doesn't leave that kind of powdery look
on your skin, it just blends in really nicely
and I think it's a really lovely one,
obviously it's just not for me
which is why it's not in the best section.
If I liked powder foundations I think this would be
like in the best section and I would be reaching for it
all the time but if you are into powder foundations
you're gonna love this and yeah,
it's just a really nice size compact as well,
I feel like for like having in your bag
when you're out and about for touch ups,
it's so good because the compact is the nice size,
you get a nice amount of product in there
and the mirror is really big as well.
Now we're moving on to the things that I didn't like so much
and my usual disclaimer, these aren't terrible products,
I think that everyone has different preferences
and these are the things that I just personally
haven't got on with but if you have
slightly different preferences to me
then there is a chance that you could love these items.
So always take what I'm saying with a pinch of salt,
they're not necessarily terrible
but if you are kind of similar to me in certain preferences
then maybe you could save yourself a little bit of money
and the first thing I'm gonna get started with
is a liquid lipstick because I just wanna get these
out the way, I feel like I talk about liquid lipsticks
so often at the moment and I'm getting really bored of it
but this is the Burberry liquid lipstick,
I think it's their Lip Velvet
and this is number one light nude
and I have a couple of these,
I think I got sent them before Christmas
but I picked this one up the other day
because the colour I got sent was a very mauvey pink colour
and that's so not me and I was like,
well maybe I'll just really get on with it
if I find my perfect shade
and this one's a little bit too light
and I was actually really disappointed
in the colour range of these,
I don't know if they're slowly rolling out more colours
but I was looking on NET-A-PORTER
which is one of the places where you can buy
Burberry beauty products
and there are about four or five shades on there
and it was just a little bit disappointing
and in terms of the formula,
these are quite thick and heavy
and it's not necessarily in a really liquidy, thick way,
they feel quite dry, it's a very, very strange formula,
it's almost creamy, I don't know if you can see this,
I will do a close up,
but it almost feels like it's a cream to powder
liquid lipstick, the formula of this is really interesting
but because of that, I just find it to be quite drying
and it's just not the ideal formula for my lips
because my lips are obviously very dry
and then my personal preference at the moment
is for a more creamy liquid lipstick
so it's just not for me all round
but I think if you like a really matte liquid lipstick,
I think you would love these
because they do dry down to a matte finish
and they have a very matte feel to them as well,
they're not like a matte finish
that feels creamy or anything like that
so if you're really into that, then you will love these.
I feel like there are some people
that are going to absolutely love these
and yeah, it just wasn't for me.
Now we have a couple of bits from MAC
and the first is one of their fragrances,
they've recently brought out a lot of fragrances
to mimic their lipsticks, which I think is such a cool idea.
I haven't tried them all,
so I'm not saying that I don't like all of them,
I've only tried this one and this one I really didn't like
and it's very unusual for me to really not like a fragrance
and to want to wash it off as soon as I've sprayed it on
because I appreciate most fragrances,
whether they are my kind of thing or not
but this, I really just couldn't get on with
and the problem I have with the smell of this one
is actually the same problem I have
with the next item that I'm going to talk about from MAC
and that is that it basically smells
like a drugstore lipstick
and I feel like some people might love that,
specifically, I think it smells like the Rimmel
Only Matte lipsticks, which is fine if that's a lipstick
and it's a drugstore lipstick
and it's kind of their thing to smell like that
but I wouldn't want to necessarily have a fragrance
that smells like that,
it actually gives me a headache to smell it,
so I'm not going to be smelling it anymore.
It's kind of very fruity and sickly sweet
and I'm not loving this one.
I'm interested to give some of the others a whirl,
see if they are better because it could just be this one,
this is the Ruby Woo fragrance
and it's just not working for me
and it's the same reason that I can't use their lip scrub
that they've just released,
this is the Lip Scrubtious lip scrub
and it's a little bit like a jellier version
of the Fresh Sugar Scrub lip balm
and it feels quite nice and scrubby.
I have to say I love the Dior one so much more than this
because I'm so over Sugar Scrub since discovering that
because it's so much more gentle and doesn't feel too harsh
but it's the smell of this.
It smells really similar to the Ruby Woo fragrance
except it has a bit more of a strawberry tinge to it
and I just feel like that really cheapens the product
and MAC isn't necessarily an affordable brand
so I just feel like I just really didn't like it.
It does leave a peachy stain on the lips which is quite nice
but like I said it's quite harsh and it smells so bad.
I can't believe how many liquid lipsticks
were released this month.
In the spirit of liquid lipsticks people,
please leave me some lipstick emojis in the comments below
because this is insane.

and worst new launches video.
