The BEST Makeup of 2024!

If I could only choose 10 favorites among the countless makeup products I tried in 2024, it would be these.
Starting with the shade, the product that impressed me the most in 2024 was certainly the TCL Tint Serum Tint N Protect SPF 50.
It is available in 13 different shades. And I actually have the shades 1 to 4. I have them all here right now.
So I thought it might be useful for those of you who are among these shades to test them in real time here in front of the camera.
Now, it's the shade 01. I'm just going to tap it on my skin so that it doesn't flow everywhere.
Then comes the shade 02. Then, we have the 03. And finally, the 04, which will certainly not be the shade I will use today.
It's obviously too dark for me right now, but I used it in the summer and I mixed it with lighter shades.
There you go. I think I'm just going to mix a little bit of shade 02 and 03. I have the impression that the shade 02 is just a little bit.
In addition, if you hear crackling noises, the crackling noises are dramatic, but weird.
There is a crazy wind right now and everything is blowing, that's why. Anyway, I have the impression that the shade 02 is a little too peachy for me.
So, oh, it really looks nice.
So, as you have just seen with the samples, the formula of this shade is incredibly liquid and flowing.
It really has a texture similar to that of a serum. It is definitely something that has become one of my preferences.
I talked about it in my video on the failures of 2024, but the products that are supposed to be shades, foundation, tinted serum, skin tint,
no matter what you want to call it, everything that is thick and creamy in this category is just something I no longer gravitate towards
because I tried something like the TCL tinted serum and now I know what it is like to use something as liquid as that.
I love it because not only does it make it super light, but I also have the impression that it really gets infinitely closer to the skin.
And that's certainly why it was the most impressive shade product for me in 2024.
Of all that I have tried in recent years, nothing has been as close to the skin as the TCL tinted serum.
It is described as having a modulable average coverage.
I certainly cannot build it to have a complete coverage, which I personally would not want anyway.
In fact, I like the coverage level. I have the impression that it is perfect.
It can certainly be tightened to have a lighter coverage too, if that's your preference, but I just have the impression that the coverage level is perfect.
The finish on the Sephora website, it is described as having a natural finish.
I do not personally agree with that.
I really think it is juicy on the side of the pink, but because of the similar quality to the skin,
it almost looks like a shiny and pink finish instead of being really moist and pink.
So, here's what it looks like in the close-up alone.
I just think it's absolutely beautiful. I can't recommend it enough.
Keep in mind that I have bright lights right now, otherwise it would be too dark.
So, it certainly makes it a little brighter in my area than it really is.
I showed what it looks like with natural light only in my tinted sunscreen parade that I posted this summer.
So, I'm going to list it below if you want to see what it looks like without bright lights.
But, I mean, even still with it, I'm like perfection.
And I can't forget to mention the fact that this product has a 50 fps.
Cherry on the cake.
The second is my favorite anti-wrinkle.
Last year, my favorite anti-wrinkle was House Labs, but it was officially replaced by the new Krisless Creamy Concealer by Tarte.
It is available in 30 shades, and I personally have two.
The first is 22 Light Neutral and the second is 29 Light Medium Neutral.
In fact, I mixed these two shades a bit.
It probably seems like a bad idea because the Light Medium shade is obviously too dark for me right now.
But I have the impression that this shade is just a little too light and bright.
So mixing them together gives me a little better balance.
OK. The Sephora website calls this both an average and total coverage.
Under the reflections, it is indicated an average coverage.
But then, about the product, what is it?
A total coverage creamy anti-wrinkle.
Personally, I think it's an average coverage.
I certainly don't get a total coverage with this one.
I can still see a little bit of my wrinkles coming out.
But it's actually something I prefer because I have the impression that it gives a slightly more natural result.
Obviously, natural is not the right word.
Because obviously, I'm wearing makeup.
It's not a secret.
But I think it's just a little less makeup.
What I told you is my preference about a million times.
So you know that this one is also supposed to have a natural finish.
And I actually agree with that.
There is really a difference between the finish of this one and the tinted CL serum.
It really seems to settle naturally on my skin without looking matte and without looking pink.
The texture of this anti-wrinkle is a lighter cream.
It's not a super heavy thick cream, but compared to something like CL, which is really liquid and light, it definitely has a creamier consistency.
When I put these two products side by side, that I did a separate skin test with Houselabs on one side and Tarte on the other,
I really had the impression that these two products were almost identical when they were fixed with powder.
And really, the only difference was at the level of the crease at the end of the day.
House definitely put a little more lines than Tarte.
It is certainly not something that I would consider as a cold anti-wrinkle, in no case.
Obviously not, because it was one of my favorites for a long time.
It's just that Tarte doesn't crease at all for me.
So, here is this Tarte anti-wrinkle up close.
I love it.
Last year, I didn't have a new favorite powder.
I kind of stuck to the powders I loved, like the Valoglodelf powder and the Soft Focus powder from Sigma, which I still love as much.
But I fell in love with another powder this year and it's the Free Skin Melt Powder from Amicole.
It is available in three different shades.
I have the Translucid shade which is supposed to suit all skin tones,
but they also have a medium-dark shade for medium-dark brown skin tones which is very youthful.
And then a rich shade, for skin tones rich in dark, which looks more like a peach color.
It has no white shade on me, but I guess with such a light skin, that doesn't mean much.
So, this powder is really unique in my collection.
I mean, not really unique, as to what extent the fixative powders can be different,
but it is definitely a little different from something like Sigma Soft Focus,
which, in my opinion, does a much better job of controlling oils throughout the day.
So, I'm counting on something like Sigma or even ELF if it's really hot and humid and I need this oil control
because this Amicole powder is certainly not something that rivals this one in that sense.
However, when I don't need to control the oil,
which unfortunately for me here in Minnesota and for a large part of the year when it's really cold outside,
this powder is my favorite.
I really feel like it melts on my skin.
And at first, any fixative powder is going to look a little flat and really powdery.
So, you'll see what it looks like at the end of this video and how it comes to life
when it melts with my skin and the rest of my makeup, and I've been wearing it for, I don't know,
maybe even just 20 or 30 minutes.
You can really see how beautiful it is.
It settles on my skin.
It's just such a light and homogeneous powder
that I find that it goes perfectly with all the makeup products I own.
And even if it's not the best way to control sebum all day,
it really helps to wear makeup all day.
So, if you're just looking for a super fine powder that melts in your skin,
that doesn't look powdery, that doesn't look powdery, that doesn't look dry,
that helps to wear makeup all day,
then you're probably going to love a Micolai Skin Melt.
I feel like I've used two or three of them,
nothing but last winter and spring because I used it every day.
I love it so much.
Well, let's move on to the eyes now.
When I put on makeup myself and I prepare myself,
without being in front of the camera,
I always have to close my eyes after all that and before doing everything else because I have to finish it.
Tell me if you agree with me,
but applying mascara is the part I prefer the least in makeup.
It's like the worst part of the whole process.
So, I like to get rid of it to be able to enjoy the bronzing powder,
the blush, the highlighter afterwards.
I know I'm weird.
I have three different eyelid palettes here that are all similar enough
that I'm not going to try to count them as three individual places in the top 10.
We're just going to group them all together.
Two of them are of the same brand anyway.
They almost look alike.
Makeup lovers see this and say,
they're all exactly the same thing.
But they're all K-Beauty eyelid palettes,
which was like a new discovery for me in 2024.
I didn't know palettes like this existed,
and that's what I've been looking for all my life.
If you're very, very clear like me,
you understand the difficulty of finding an eye shadow that is not too dark,
too hard and too orange on you.
It's like an almost impossible task.
Take, for example, something like the eye shadow palette Makeup by Mario,
which I recommended so many times before.
It was my choice for years,
but it's because I didn't know that something like that existed.
I couldn't use as many shades of this one
because they were too dark and too orange.
Basically, I just used the lightest shade mixed with the peach,
then I used these deeper shades as an eyeliner.
The same goes for this eye shadow palette by Patrick Ta.
I mean, you can see the difference.
Difference in the depth of the shades.
Unless I try to use one of these shades as an eyeliner,
this part of the palette has remained intact for me.
But honestly, even these two shades here seemed too dark to me,
unless I put on self-tinting.
So I tried to mix these four shades.
But most of the time,
it resulted in a color combination that didn't quite suit me,
which ended up being a little too dark.
As if I couldn't find anything that suited me exactly.
I was used to creating my own eye shadow palettes
with the lightest shade I could find from each brand.
And even so,
I never managed to create something that looked like this one.
So, here's the Cleo Senior Latte palette.
I would say that it contains more neutral to cold shades.
And then these two palettes are from the Awake brand.
The upper shade is a vanilla blur effect
and the lower shade is a caramel blur effect.
These two specific shade options are no longer available on YesStyle for a few months now,
which is really a shame because they were obviously my favorites.
Wake offers a ton of other color options,
so you could find something that you will like even better than this one anyway.
But otherwise,
I noticed that there are several other sites that still offer these two shades.
So, if that's exactly what you want,
they are there,
but not where I bought them originally.
In case you would like to see these palettes side by side,
Cleo is at the top.
Wake Vanilla Blurring is at the bottom.
Wake is definitely a little warmer.
And then we have Cleo against Wake and Caramel Blurring,
which offer deeper shades than Vanilla Blurring.
These are the two that I mainly used all summer
because they are warmer and obviously Self Tan is warm because it is orange,
but Cleo is what I wore these last few months without self-toning.
The colors are simply perfect,
so flattering for my shade for once in my life.
But whatever the palette I use,
I usually always start by mixing some of the lightest shades
on a very large brush like this one.
This one is the BK Angie A506, very flashy.
I place it on my entire eyelid and up to my arch of the eyebrow.
It gives me a little touch of color and helps to uniform things
and create a nice base for the shade of hollow that I will use.
I then create the most subtle depth in my hollow with these medium shades.
I use it on a Sephora Pro Kris 26.
I then place it slightly in my hollow and then in the outer corner.
And that's all.
Because I try to stay subtle.
And what I like about all these eye shadows, Cleo and Weikake,
is that I can easily do it.
They are simply softer and less intensely pigmented
than Make Up By Mario and Patrick Ta
and I mean so many other eye shadows that I tried in the United States.
So, it's much easier for me to get this softer and more subtle look.
In general, I also bring these medium shades down a little
in the hollow of the eyelid, on the outside of my eyelid.
I have the impression that this helps to bring everything together in a coherent way.
And then I go over it again with the first brush I used to mix everything.
Boring.
I know, but that's just where I am with my eye shadow journey.
I just love its appearance.
Ta-da!
Although I don't have any new favorite classic mascaras this year,
I have a new favorite tube mascara.
Before 2024, I certainly didn't regularly use tube mascaras.
I have the impression that many people I know who use tube mascara
will only use tube.
They are like faithful to the tube.
They use exclusively tube.
It was never my path.
I had certainly tested some of the most popular ones over the last few years,
but there was nothing that was exclusive to me.
Does that mean that I was exclusive to ...
You see what I mean?
I didn't use tube mascara exclusively.
Like one of my best friends, Christine, and like that.
She only uses tube mascara, nothing else.
And after this year, I can now say that I understand and appreciate this feeling
I tested 20 of the best-noted tube mascaras.
I did skin tests all day.
Like, you know the chorus.
If you look at my confrontations, in particular my mascara confrontations,
not only did I do skin tests, but I also removed them in front of the camera for you too.
Anyway, I absolutely hated, hated, hated, hated.
So, hated.
I saw Wicked with my sisters last weekend, and I'm not kidding.
It's the only thing I could think of every day.
The morning after seeing it, I woke up and my first thought when I woke up was
Oh, I can't wait to see it again.
I have to go this weekend.
I'm just obsessed.
In short, I hated a lot of these tube mascaras, but this one simply blew me away.
It's the Tartelette tube mascara.
Not to be confused with the XL tube mascara from Tarte.
That one was bad.
If you're curious, here's what the wand looks like.
Normally, this kind of thing doesn't work for me, but it does in this formula.
I'm going to curl my lashes, but I'm not going to apply a base.
I tested the use of a base before this mascara and it doesn't really work.
It doesn't mix like the tube formula with a base that isn't a tube.
It doesn't seem to go well.
Sorry, no one wanted to see my weird eye like that while I was talking.
Ok, I just curled them way too high.
They're like pressed against my eyelid.
So, it spreads everywhere.
It was my fault.
So, I'd say it's like between wet and dry.
It's not a too wet mascara, but it's something that's a little thicker.
And something in this combination of not too wet, a little thick, does just that,
not that does that, makes it a mascara that overlaps so well on my lashes.
