Virgin Orbit collapses! What is up with Richard Branson?

Two years ago, there was an intense race in space between the 3 world's richest billionaires: Elon Musk's SpaceX, Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, and Richard Branson's Virgin Orbit.
The result?
SpaceX is now reaching orbit at least two times a week while Bezos’ Blue Origin has recently come under fire for its malfunctioning New Shepherd rocket. ?
What’s even more saddening is that Branson's Virgin Orbit has been a complete disaster and was finally bankrupted recently.

Richard Branson's Virgin Orbit Holdings filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday.
It comes less than a week after the company announced it was cutting 85% of its workforce, leaving roughly 100 employees to run what was left of the business. The US-based firm will seek a buyer for its assets.
“While we have taken great efforts to address our financial position and secure additional financing, we ultimately must do what is best for the business,” the chief executive, Dan Hart, said.
