The Polonaise (from French: danse polonaise "Polish dance") is a Polish national dance.

When I listen to this Polonaise in A major, op. 40, No. 1, I can literally see the traditionally dancing couples striding elegantly through the polonaise figures, in a pure and moderate tempo in a very dignified and majestic manner. The gentlemen leads his lady gracefully, while the lady dances with light dancing steps. The Polonaise rhythm dictates when and how the gentlemen emphasize their step.

A polonaise is danced as a couple, the ladies waring a floor-length ball (princess) gown, the gentleman wear traditionally a black suit. The steps are precise, the ladies curtsey in sync, and in my opinion, this polonaise has earned its nickname "military polonaise" easily, and rightly so. As this music is filled with majestic elegance and dignity.

The video were taken below the Jaun Pass. It is beautiful to watch the cloud-shadows move over the mountains and hills. It is a true "shadow play" until most of the clouds have dissipated.

波蘭舞曲（法語：danse polonaise，“波蘭舞蹈”）是一種波蘭民族舞蹈。

當我聽到這首A大調波蘭舞曲時，我可以清晰地看到傳統的跳舞情侶優雅地邁著波蘭舞曲的步伐，在純淨而適度的節拍中以非常莊嚴和雄偉的方式前進。男士優雅地引領他的女士，而女士則輕盈起舞。波蘭舞曲節拍規定了男士何時以及如何強調他們的步伐。

波蘭舞曲是一對夫婦跳舞，女性穿著長及地面禮服（公主裙），男性傳統上穿著黑色西裝。節拍精確，女性齊聲行屈膝禮，並且在我看來，這個波蘭舞曲很容易賺得它的綽號“軍事式”的稱號，並且理所應當。因為這段音樂富有莊重、高貴和尊嚴感。

視頻是在Jaun Pass下方拍攝的。觀看雲影移動山嶺之間非常美麗。直到大部分雲朵消散之前都是真正的“影子戲劇”。
