Today was our FIRST time taking our kids school shopping! I just know sending them off on their first day of school will be so bittersweet! In today's video, I share a few ideas of ways you can save a LOT of money while you're taking your kiddo's (no matter what age) back to school shopping! Hope you enjoy!!
We are an ADVENTUROUS family of 6 who lost our son to SIDS in 2014. Our biggest regret was not having family videos of him when he was here and is why we started doing daily vlogs!
Thomas is a 2X North American Champion in his kick-boxing career and Ashley is a network-marketing professional.
Together we have 6 year old Identical twins- Simon & Cohen. Our son Miloh was born 12/12/13 and passed away 5/20/14. We were blessed with our Rainbow baby (and 4th son) Ezrah this year on 03/02/17 and we have loved sharing our every day journey with our followers and are looking forward to where this journey takes us!
We are NOT on social media, so the only way to stay updated is to hit that red subscribe button (and that little bell) so you NEVER miss a video! ;)

Hey guys, welcome back to our channel.
Today is all about going back to school shopping
and I know it's still July
and there is still a lot of summer left,
but I figured right now you're gonna find
the best selection of whatever you're looking for
for back to school.
If you go the week before school starts,
then it's slim pickings.
When I went to school,
we'd always go about a month before.
So there was just a lot more variety
of things to choose from.
We decided to go to Target for back to school shopping.
We were gonna hit up Walmart,
but while we were grocery shopping today,
we looked and there was hardly anything for boys
as far as backpacks went
and we knew our boys would want
some kind of graphic backpack.
So we decided to give Target a try
and we are very glad that we did.
We did find a lot of good stuff at Target.
Now I wanna share a few tips with you guys
who are on a severe budget this time of year
for ways you can save money
and still get everything you need for back to school.
The first tip I wanna share with you guys
is as far as clothes go,
I feel like that's kind of where we splurge the most.
It's on all those new clothes for our kids.
So one of the things that I did
is I was thinking, okay, we,
I felt like our kids needed a lot of clothes
for back to school,
but what I did is I went around the entire house.
I found any of their clothes
because our kids are prone
for taking off their shirt or their pants somewhere
and leaving them all over the house.
And so when I look in their closet,
I'm like, gosh, there's like not that much to choose from.
But what I did is I went around,
I picked up everything I could find,
I washed them all, hung them up,
and I found that we had about nine t-shirts,
really 18 because there's two of them,
but nine different days worth of t-shirts
that fit them great,
that they wore on a daily basis that they love,
and nine long sleeve shirts.
So they already had plenty of clothes.
They didn't really need anything.
And then as far as pants went,
they have a great pair of jeans.
They have jeans short,
they had dark gray long pants, black pants,
and then the same thing with shorts.
And so I was like, okay,
honestly, looking at all of this,
they don't need anything.
So if we find something,
if we find a few tops that maybe they want,
then maybe we'll get that.
But as far as what they needed,
there really wasn't anything.
So that's something that I would suggest you guys do as well.
If you find some clothes while you're on your little hunt,
maybe they don't fit them anymore,
or maybe it's just not like a style
that they really wear anymore,
then I would suggest selling those items
on Facebook yard sale or some other way.
You can always get a couple bucks per top
or sell it as a bundle for like 30, $40.
And then you can easily go get a couple of nice new tops
or outfits that they need for back to school.
Another thing is hit up your Goodwill store.
I am so not against finding things at Goodwill.
And especially with little kids,
because they grow out of things so quickly
that chances are that item that you find
was not even worn very many times.
With our twins, we dress in the same,
so I've really never shopped at Goodwill for them.
But for Ezra, we did for Milo,
we always found little cute onesies.
And I swear, a lot of the things
that we have found for our boys at Goodwill
still have their tags on.
I mean, there are so many people that buy things
and forget it's in their closet.
And then when they find them, they're like,
oh my gosh, they're already outgrown out of this.
And so they don't know what to do with them,
so they just drop them off at Goodwill.
So you guys, that is a great place to look for
backpacks and clothes for your children.
So those are just a few of the tips that I have for you.
Also, don't be against shopping at Walmart.
Some of my very favorite shirts that the boys wear
were from Walmart, and those tops were like $2.88.
I mean, you can find killer deals at Walmart.
A lot of the boys' shoes are from there,
and those are around $5, $6 a pair.
So Walmart is an awesome place to shop
if you're on a very strict budget right now
for back-to-school.
All right, guys, we're gonna take you with us as we shop.
