Hi Bold Bakers! I’ve received a lot of requests for Homemade Peanut Butter so this week I’m showing you my easy, 3-ingredient recipe. You can use this Peanut Butter in your baking or enjoy it on its own. Try this recipe with your other favorite nuts to make a variety of nut butters. So let’s get baking!
Hi Bold Bakers!
Myself, Kevin and Even Waffles go through a lot of peanut butter.
So rather than keep on going to the shop to buy some more, I'm going to show you how
you can make your own using just three simple ingredients.
The first ingredient is a big bowl of roasted, salted peanuts.
Now these peanuts are just store-bought peanuts.
They're a really, really basic ingredient.
You're going to go ahead and pour your peanuts into your food processor.
You can also use any kind of a grinder or a blender.
The fact that they're already roasted and salted means that our peanut butter will have
even better flavor.
So we're just going to pop on our lid and grind our peanuts until they form a smooth
paste.
So after around two minutes, you'll notice that it's starting to really come together
and form that paste.
Now we're going to keep on going, let it process a little bit more until it's really
lovely and smooth.
So it's just been another minute or so, and this is what I was looking for.
Do you see this?
A nice, smooth, peanutty paste.
So the next ingredients we're going to add in is a little bit of oil.
Please use good quality oil.
You can use vegetable oil, sunflower oil, even coconut oil, surprisingly enough, works
really well in peanut butter, but please do not add olive oil because it is too strong
of a flavor.
Now peanut butter also needs a little bit of sweetness, so we're going to add in a little
bit of honey, but you can also use agave or a different type of sugar if you like.
It's just a smidge to bring out all the lovely flavors.
And then we're just going to go on with our lid again and blend it up until it all comes
together.
For those of you who don't eat or like peanuts, you can make this nut butter with any kind
of nuts that you like, so it's a really versatile recipe.
Okay, this is looking great.
Now check out this texture.
Smooth, nutty peanut butter.
Now if you like chunky peanut butter, then feel free to add in a few whole peanuts at
the end and get that nice bit of texture.
Now you can see this is a little bit soft, but that is totally fine because once you
refrigerate it, it's actually going to stiffen up quite a lot.
So pour it into an airtight container and it will live happily in the fridge for up
to 12 weeks.
This has amazing flavor, it's salty, it's roasted, it is a fantastic ingredient to add
into your baking or just eat it as is.
