How to Build a Log Cabin with the 18th-Century Technique ?
In this video, the Townsends team will take you back to the 18th century by building a log cabin using the old technique. The project required a lot of patience, skills, teamwork, and a comprehensive weather response. They mostly used wood, clay, and basic hand tools to construct their place.
The construction is simple; it doesn't require a lot of expensive materials or advanced techniques. You and your buddies can create your own, which might be a fulfilling hobby. Watching the construction process will give you beautiful feelings of peace and connection to nature.
In the early nineteenth century, log cabins were a favored construction material for European Americans and Cherokees. Settlers often built log cabins as temporary homes to live in while constructing larger, permanent houses; they either demolished the log structures or used them as outbuildings, such as barns or chicken coops. Log cabins and sheds could be built with minimal local materials, labor, and knowledge. These historic log buildings now stand as testaments to the skill of these early craftsmen.
