Watch this before you visit Belize City, Belize, Central America
I finally got to Belize City where i show you the busy streets, commercial area, Belize City market and remembrance park. This video is the final part of This is Belize.
Hello everyone, Mickey here. Thank you very much for checking my channel. I really appreciate you
clicking and watching me right now. So this is part three of This is Belize. So I put part one
out where I took you on a brief history tour of Belize, where we spoke about the culture,
the Mayans, the Garifunas, and then the natural resources of Belize. And then in part two,
I made a detour to one of the numerous beaches in Belize called Kokumba Beach. Really nice.
If you've not seen it, I'll put the link at the video description so that you can go and watch it
and get back to it. So in this video, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take you through
the heart of Belize City. I'll take you through the commercial areas and then I'll take you into
the markets. So without talking too much, let's get straight into the video. So guys, this is
Belize City and behind me is the Civic Center. So it's like a sports center where a lot of sports
competition goes on. Civic Center is a very big place and it's big in Belize City because a lot
of things happen in that center. So guys, we are in Belize City right now and this place is one of
my favorite places. It's the Belize City Market. On a Saturday morning, that's where we get fresh
food. As someone from Africa, I enjoy my fresh food. I love my fresh food and this is where I come on
Saturday morning and get fresh food. I will let you come with me into the market and let's see what
they have in the market. So we are in one of the busiest streets in Belize. They call it the Albert
Street and if you were in Ghana, you would say this is your Edun or this is Kejetia. If you're in
Accra, you would say Makola or Kantamanto. So this is where like a lot of shops and they have a lot
of boutiques and where people buy gadgets of stuff. So have a look now. So guys, we're still looking
around in Belize and I've come to this memorial park and Belize was colonized by the British
and they used to call it the British Honduras. So Belize is part of the Commonwealth and you know
when it came to World Wars and other wars, we had some Commonwealth countries, Commonwealth soldiers
fighting for the British alongside the British contingent. So this is where all the Belize
fallen heroes are remembered and this is like a memorial ground. So on the 11th of
November, we came here and had a remembrance moment for all the fallen heroes.
So we're still in Belize city and I was going past this neighborhood and I want to show you
something and I want to tell you something. So when I was in Belize, when I was in Ladyville,
I mentioned something like they build very small, nothing fancy, just enough to do the job.
In affluent neighborhood like this, it's not the case. They build like big and
I'll show you some of the houses and it's so amazing. So in places like that, close to
the coastline, it's a bit extravagant and I'll show you. So there you have it guys, that was a brief
drive through Belize town and Belize city. I hope you found it enjoyable and I hope it taught
you a bit about Belize and I hope you enjoyed watching it. So I'll see you in the next video,
just keep on watching, subscribe. There's a lot about Belize coming and there's a lot more to
see about Belize. So yeah, just subscribe and enjoy. Thank you very much and enjoy your week. Bye-bye!
