5 Ways To Wear A Linen Suit | How To Wear A Brown Linen Suit

What's up, guys? I'm Brian Sacawa. You're watching He Spoke Style, and today I'm showing you five ways to wear a brown linen suit. Starting off with the full suit, this suit is by Michael Andrews Bespoke. Cloth is by Skabal. It is a heavier weight linen, which feels and drapes really, really nicely. A linen suit I always think of as a more casual suit, and I always try to bring that feeling to the way I style it. Here, I have just a simple and classic striped shirt by Peter Millar, but what I really want to point out is the tie. This is a linen tie by Drake's. It pairs well because it is linen, but it also has more of a sort of loose and relaxed feel to it and a really nice texture. Pulling in that color of the tie with my Panama hat, an absolutely essential spring and summer accessory, on my wrist, the Cartier Tank Americaine, and finishing it off with some brown suede loafers by Bowdoin & Lynn. Next up, we are using the jacket as a separate. This works really well because of the weight of the fabric. You always want to think about the versatility of your suits and choose your pocket styles with that in mind. Because this is a more casual jacket, I chose to go with patch pockets. The rest of the outfit, very simple. Denim shirt by Peter Millar, one of my favorites. I wear it all the time. I love that it isn't a perfectly solid color, so it adds a little bit of depth. Off-white chinos are by Ring Jacket, 2-inch cuff. On my wrist is the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Boutique Edition and suede tassel loafers by Morjas. An easy, simple, classic spring and summer look. Now, from the jacket as a separate to the pants, these pants have a higher rise, which I like. I find it to be more in line with my over-the-age-of-40 style, but mostly, I just find it to be a lot more comfortable. My jacket is a jacket I had made a long time ago at Saks through their made-to-measure program. Fabric is out of this world. It's by Samuelson. Amazing texture, amazingly breezy and lightweight. You can see that I went with patch pockets again, including the breast pocket, which I thought was a neat touch. White buttons for some contrast. The shirt by Michael Andrews Bespoke is linen. This is an all-linen look. Again, the Traditionnelle on my wrist. Some classic Ray-Ban Clubmasters and the Bowdoin and Lang loafers. Here we go with the full three-piece suit. I always try to get a waistcoat with my suits just to exponentially increase the number of possibilities. To be honest, this is the version of the suit that I wear the least, but I like the idea of having the ability to go a little more formal if there was an occasion that called for it. I think it's important to kind of play down the formality of a linen three-piece suit. It is linen after all. Here, I did it in a couple of ways. First, the tie. Classic Navy Grenadine by Drake's. Nice texture. Pocket square fold with a little more flair. Then, the collar pin, which strangely, instead of making it appear more formal, actually I think makes it more playful. Tank Americaine on the wrist and some leather tassel loafers. These are by Johnston and Murphy. Finally, an underrated combination, the waistcoat and pants together. This outfit for me is all about being loose, relaxed, having a little fun, which is why I left the waistcoat unbuttoned. Another reason for that conscious decision was the fact that I have a really cool paisley lining on the waistcoat and it's a detail that, depending on how you move or how you're sitting, that people will catch these little subtle glimpses of the paisley, which I really like. Brown gingham shirt adds some pattern. Panama hat, again, I think sort of pulls the entire look together. On my wrist, the datagraph and then pulling in the black of the watch and the band of the hat are these black suede loafers by Belgian Shoes. There you have it, five ways to wear a brown linen suit.
