How to Properly Warm up Your Classic Car Engine and Why it matters | Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

All cars need to warm up, especially for an old car. It only takes a few minutes and will save you from serious engine problems down the road.
In this video, car expert Iain Tyrrell provides an in-depth explanation on why properly warming your classic automobile is so important and outlines some key methods for doing so.
So, how do you heat up an old car? Start your car without revving the engine, then let it idle and warm for a few minutes before driving away. Apply only light throttle until the temperature gauge reads normal.
Warming the engine and transmission, especially in extremely cold weather, is the most considerate thing you can do. Cold fluids are difficult to move, and stressing the engine without complete lubrication is a recipe for disaster.
