In the end it was a fun day. But if we did this again I would have us either do a bike tour or rent a golf cart. They have golf carts you can rent, isn't that fun? I'm happy that we got to cross this off our bucket list though. It is such an amazing place and it just blows my mind that people built and lived in places like this. Porter's excited too. He loves going to castles.
I know I don't.
We're on our way to Versailles.
And I read a bunch of different things about Versailles because I know it's not super kid friendly.
I wanted to know how to make it kid friendly.
Number one thing that I read was to get there early.
So we're getting there as close as we can to opening time.
It's opening right now at 9am in the summer hours.
So we're getting here really early.
We brought lots of food because you can eat in the park or in the gardens.
The thing that you can't really plan for is just the crowds.
There's supposed to be a lot of people. It's a Saturday.
So I'm really excited.
This is one thing that I really wanted to do that I haven't seen yet in Paris.
It's going to be fun. I'm so excited.
We're pulling up into Versailles. We're outside the gates.
We're here with all of the other tourists coming to see it for the day.
And it's already in line.
But we already have tickets so I'm hoping that we don't have to stand in that line.
Holy cow! It's been open like a half an hour on a Saturday morning.
But I guess this is why we come see these things right?
It's a tourist attraction for a reason.
And we're tourists so we're going to go see all the attractions.
You guys ready?

It's because we have tickets.
Oh, they don't have tickets yet?
Or is it because we have a stroller?
No, I asked is it because we have it here or because you have tickets.

So like these other people have them.
Okay, we made it in.
Zach, how'd it go?
It was so awesome.
We cut an enormous line because we bought the tickets beforehand with a guaranteed reserve time.
It was pretty awesome.
So get the tickets online ahead of time is the name of the game.
Seriously, I'm amazed at how crowded it is here.
So what else did we have to just do?
We went through, I guess you can't bring strollers into the chateau.
So we had to bag check our stroller and go through security.
Stay on the white.

If this is what it's like to get here before the crowds, then I don't even want to know what it's like with the most crowds.
There's a lot of people here.
Beau's not having a fun time. He wants to go outside.
We love elevators that aren't fringe.
We always want elevators that aren't fringe.
There's elevators everywhere.
The kid's always fine about who gets to push the button.
Whoopsie.
It's pushing.

Alright guys, we made it outside.
That was crazy.
All those hallways, all those people, lots of tour groups.
Just insanity.
And it's not even the busy time of day.
So we're happy to get that done.
But it was great. Inside it was beautiful.
One of those things we can check off our bucket list.
Now we're outside. There's supposed to be a garden fountain show in a couple minutes.
So we're trying to find a cool fountain.
I guess it's like all of the fountains.
There's a ton of really ornate cool fountains that we can go to.
Would you rather be born into royalty back then or have an iPhone nowadays?
Definitely an iPhone.
I don't think royalty back then was all of this.
Yeah, like you have all of this but then you're going to walk around the ground and like
I don't know, do one of those like windy spin toy things.
Play cards?
I don't know, yeah.
Gamble, drink?
Yeah, participate in a lot of sin.

Our time at Versailles has come to an end and we are heading out.
It is sunny now.
It was cold and cloudy this morning and yeah, we had a lot of fun.
We would probably not do it the same way if we had kids.
I think if we came again, we would just do the Petit Trianon and the Hamlet and that would be fun for kids.
But it's fun to come if you've done everything else you want to do in Paris and things.
This is a fun day.
You can just come and picnic and do that kind of thing.
So yeah, now we're heading home.
It's been good, it's been fun.
