Apollo 11 takes three days, three hours, and 49 minutes to get to the Moon.
This mission began on July 16, 1969, when a Saturn V multi-stage rocket took the astronauts from Kennedy Space Center into orbit.

Apollo 11 was the first American space flight that landed humans on the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:17 UTC.

Six hours after the spacecraft landed on July 21 at 02:56:15 UTC, Armstrong was the first to step on the lunar surface, followed by Aldrin. They spent about two and a quarter hours together outside the spacecraft and collected 47.5 pounds (21.5 kg) of lunar material to bring back to Earth.

The third crew member, pilot Michael Collins, flew the Command Module Columbia into lunar orbit and was on the Moon's surface for 21 hours, 36 minutes before lifting off to rejoin Columbia.

July 22 , 1969 the three explorers fired away from lunar orbit back to Earth orbit .
