I try straightening my hair with Ribbon.

Welcome to my bedroom. So today I wanted to try out a new heatless straightening method that I found on the internet. Also a couple of viewers mentioned this to me. So it's called a kardoon and it's a traditional Algerian method of wrapping your hair with a specific type of ribbon which is called a kardoon and it's supposed to straighten out your hair. I'm not sure if this is a tradition in other countries as well. But from the information I found it's from Algeria. Now because I don't have a kardoon I have scouted around my house and found a bunch of ribbons. I mean obviously it's not the same as a kardoon but I'm sure it will do a similar job. I'm going to show you what my hair looks like beforehand. If you've been watching my videos for a while you know I've been struggling with really puffy hair that I'm not sure if it's wavy or straight. I washed my hair yesterday and let it air dry completely naturally and then I wore it in a looks like. It kind of doesn't just lay together so I'm hoping that this might work. I want to actually try doing two kardoons. I think traditionally you just do one at the back of your head but I just feel like it might be a bit tricky to get to the back of my head. So we're going to try doing two and I'm actually going to get a spray bottle and just dampen my hair because it does help. This is going to be my first attempt so please don't judge me. I actually do intend to buy a kardoon and learn to do it properly but for now we'll just see how this goes as a first attempt. Starting at the top I bound that a few times. In theory it's pretty easy. We're just wrapping the hair very tightly right to the end. I have a feeling it might somehow unravel so I'm gonna go up since I have a bit more ribbon. I'm gonna take a scrunchie because they're nice and soft. Okay so I've just wrapped the scrunchie around it. Okay I am back. I have finished both sides. My hair's looking very colourful and very weird so I did have to reinforce it with some extra ribbon because I felt like it was kind of coming out. I just wanted to make sure it was going to hold up through the night. I'm now going to leave these in for the rest of the evening and overnight and we'll see how it turns out tomorrow morning. It stayed in pretty well during the night and throughout the whole evening so let's just take this out. Oh okay wow so it's looking a little crimped. First impressions. I don't really have a mirror so I'm using the viewfinder. Interesting. It feels really soft, really sleek but oh I'm not sure guys. It's very very strange. I don't know if you can see but it's like almost like I've had it in braids like it's kind of crimped. I guess where the ribbon's gone round and round. Again I'm not sure if that's just because this was ribbon like maybe it really needs to be the cardoon. I don't know I'll probably buy one and see but this it's not straight. You can see there's like a visible crimp. Oh dear the back kind of still looks a bit frayed and frizzy. Again that's just the way my hair is. Okay okay so final verdict. I'm a little bit disappointed. It's made my hair look kind of weird. I guess that goes to show that ribbons are not gonna work. I can't say that cardoons don't work though because again I didn't actually use a proper cardoon. I only had ribbons so maybe if I buy one and try it again it will work a little differently. Maybe if I try just doing the one it will work a bit differently. I don't know so I'm gonna buy one. I will leave a link on Amazon. I found them on Amazon. You know even though this didn't work it's still interesting to post these videos trying things and experimenting and if it doesn't work like I feel like I should still post it because it's still interesting to see.
