THEY'RE GROWING BACK FAST! _ Nail Update
Aloha, welcome back to my channel. So in this video I'm going to be showing you my nails and
also showing you my nails without nail polish to prove to you that they are real. I'm also going
to answer some of the questions that you guys have been leaving me on my videos. So my nails
are growing back guys, they're growing back. A lot of people were really upset when I cut them
and especially since that video went viral. Like holy crap, not the video I would have chosen to
In my last update I was showing you that my nails were slowly recovering
from the false nails that I had stuck on over Christmas. So that wasn't the nails I cut off,
those were real. But after I had cut off my real nails I put on some false nails and in my
last nail update, which I'll leave down in the description and up here, you could still see that
they were really damaged. The glue had ripped off layers of my nail and although they were growing
out, because my nails were now so thin and damaged they were just breaking constantly. So it took me
a while, it's now July and they've only just fully recovered from the nail glue. So it took a good
six to seven months. I can't quite believe that. I'm going to say it took around six months
for them to fully grow, like a whole new nail to grow if you know what I mean. So from cuticle
to tip, about six months. Holy crap, that's a long time. Over the summer I got a job as a waitress
in a bar and you're using your hands a lot, pouring drinks, pressing buttons on a screen.
So I found that my nails were breaking a lot more, especially my right pointer and middle finger
because these were the fingers I would use the most to put things in the till. Pouring drinks,
touching glasses, washing my hands constantly. If your hands are getting wet a lot, especially in
your job, it can weaken your nails. So I had to always wear layers and layers of nail polish and
strengthener. I have come home now, so I don't have that job at the moment, but I will be starting
again in September. So as you can see, I am growing them back nicely. The colour I am wearing today is
Autograph Ultimate Wear Nail Colour and this is called Purple Rain. It was a gift, but I will
link it in the description if I'm able to find it on Amazon or something. While my nails are
regrowing again, I've kept them in the square shape, which is the strongest shape to grow your
nails. Though I have sort of narrowed them towards the end, so almost like a coffin shape, but just
very, very subtle, just so they look a little bit more elegant. This is also because some of my
nails chip on the sides, so it's easier to file them in an angle and sort of hide the fact that
they've been chipped, while still having them all look like a uniform shape. In terms of nail care,
I've completely run out of the Nail Envy, which I used to use as a base coat before putting on a
nail colour. This is a nail strengthener. I just found it was really good. I don't know why,
I just really liked it. But since that's run out, I am now using my Sally Hansen Harder's Nails.
This is a nail hardener. It's very good. It does make your nails very hard, but it's not a base
coat. It doesn't protect my nails from staining. I really want to get my hands on the Mavala
whitening base coats, because my nails are going yellow again, unfortunately. But it's kind of,
sort of expensive. Not really too bad, but I am on a budget at the moment, being a student and
saving up for next year. So I have to be mindful of where I'm spending my money right now. Hopefully,
at some point, I'll be able to get my hands on that. Recently, to moisturise, I've been using
coconut oil. But as you guys know, I'm a big fan of Egyptian magic and any kind of argan oil,
jojoba oil, any kind of raw oils I can get my hands on. To file, as always, a crystal nail file
is my best friend. Every time I change my nail polish. If you'd like to check out my nail care
routine, which was filmed back when I had very, very long, scary nails, it is exactly the same
routine that I always use, whether my nails are short or long. So again, I'll leave that in the
description for you to check out after this video. In terms of removing, I always use Q-tex. Pretty
much the one I always go for. I trust it. It doesn't weaken my nails at all. And I like it.
Took off my nail polish last night and slept with them bare. And oh my goodness,
I don't understand why, but whenever I take off my nail polish, the next day, my nails are so
tender. They literally really hurt. Let me know in the comments if you have this problem as well.
Whenever I remove my nail polish and have my nails bare, they get very tender, very sore. And I woke
up this morning, I couldn't even type on my laptop to reply to comments because my, it just, it hurt.
They are a little better now. They're still a little tender, but they, they're not so bad now
that I've put nail polish back on, which is really weird. I don't even know, girl, but yeah. So here
is some footage that I took of my nails yesterday. They're looking a little bit dry because I had
just filed them. And as you can see, they are real. Believe it or not, I still get people
commenting, saying your nails are fake. You're lying. La la la la la. Again, if you want to
watch my nail routine video, when I had long, long nails, you can see there that they are my real
nail. That is my nail growth. It's nothing stuck on. It's not acrylic. It's not plastic. You can
see the ridges in my nail. You can see how it's like freaking yellow because of the staining and
that doesn't happen to acrylic nails. All the nail where the layers had been ripped off has now grown
out and I've filed it off. So it's pretty much just healthy, smooth nail now. I still get questions
still on, uh, my viral video where I cut my nails. How do you wipe your ass? I still get questions.
And I even made a video titled how I wipe my ass, which was my last nail update. And people
still asking me how I wipe my ass. If you just go on my channel and have a look, you will see
the video there. In that video, I also explain how I open cans, how I do the washing up. Another
question I keep getting is how do I put in contact lenses? I've never actually put in a contact lens,
but I imagine let's just say I'm putting in a contact lens. I would have to have it like,
right. Hang on. Let me just imagine my nail doesn't actually even need to touch my eyeballs.
So say the eye contact lens is here. I guess I would literally just go scoop and my nail, as you
can see, would just go past my eye. So even if I had long nails still, I think I would still be able
to just like this. You see, my nail is not actually touching my eye. So I guess I would just
be very gentle. Also, how do I pick pennies up from the ground with much struggle? Yes, that's
probably one of the things I do struggle with is picking pennies up from the ground, because
for a start, I don't like touching things that are dirty or things with bacteria on. So I don't like
for a start touching the ground anyway. So I'm always like, I try not to use my nails as tools,
so if I dropped a penny on the floor, I would try to avoid using my actual nails to scoop it up.
But I try to use my actual fingers. I live by the motto, your nails are jewels, not tools. I don't
use them as tools to open things, pick at things, to peel off labels, open cans. With the exception
of scratching my skin, that's probably the only thing I really use my nails for. Will I be growing
them back to how they used to be? If you watched my video when I cut my nails, which I'm sure you've
seen already, I mentioned at the beginning that the reason I was cutting them was because I am
studying at university acting, and it's very limiting if you have long-ass nails. You just
can't play many characters, can you? I mean, think about it. But of course, I will be growing them to
like a socially acceptable length that's still very long, but not as long as they were definitely
not, because they were looking creepy. But again, you guys loved them so much, and I got so many
wonderful comments, so I kept them, and people loved to watch my videos because of them.
Will I wear the fake nails again? I wanted to so bad. I wanted to believe that I could wear them
again, but it took six months for them to grow back healthy again, so purely because of that.
That's really sad because I really enjoyed it, and I did upload a vlog recently from back in Christmas
when I had the nails. I also get a lot of rude comments about my nails as well, but that's
granted, isn't it? I'll also be uploading my Christmas day vlog from last year on my vlog
channel as well if you want to check it out. I had massive red long nails. I was actually
making cookies with these massive long nails. If you want to see it, it will be in the description
once it's uploaded, but yes, proof that I can do pretty much anything with the long nails,
with the exception of some minor things. And the other sorts of questions I get are just kind of
like silly, you know? Like, how do you like be asked is silly, but I still answered it,
you know what I mean? Oh, another question. Does my boyfriend enjoy my nails? No, he doesn't have,
as I talked about in some of my previous videos, a lot of men have nail fetish, which is why
some men like to watch my videos and my nail videos. I personally don't find nails a turn-on.
I think they're attractive, but I'm very understanding of whatever crazy fetishes
people have. It's totally up to you. It's none of my business if you enjoy watching my videos
because of it. That really doesn't affect me. I'm happy that you enjoy my videos, but yeah,
putting myself out there on the internet, of course, you're opening yourself up to
weird and wonderful things and you have to be open-minded to that. He doesn't have a nail
fetish. He doesn't find them sexually attractive. He likes that I take care of them and he thinks
it makes me, I guess, attractive because taking care of your nails is taking care of your appearance,
so he likes that aspect of it. If you have any more questions about my nails that I have not
answered, please do leave them in the comment section and I'll answer them in my next nail
update, which should be in a couple months' time when they are looking a little bit longer. Do
follow me on Instagram and Snapchat if you want to catch up with me. I also have Twitter and
Facebook, which I don't use as much as Instagram and Snapchat, but if you'd give me a follow,
I'd really appreciate that still. If you liked it, like it. If you want to see more, please do
subscribe. Commenting, liking, whatever you want to do, it helps me out a lot, so I really do
appreciate it. All the videos I've talked about will be in the description if you want to check
them out, as well as any products I've used. I will leave links to where you can find them.
Thank you so much for watching, everybody. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Remember,
you are always welcome here on my channel and I will see you soon in my next video. Bye-bye.
