Lao Tzu, also known as Li Er, is the founder of Taoism and a famous philosopher and thinker. He left the world the eternal book of Tao Te Ching. In 571 B.C., Lao Tzu was born in the Chu State of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. His father, Lao Zuo, was a military commander in the Song State. In the summer of 573 B.C., Chu’s soldiers attacked the Song State, and Lao Zuo led the troops to the battlefield.
